turn dhcp off on the second router. Assign a different ip range so it does not clash with first router and assign the second router a static address outside of both ranges . Connect the 2 routers together with crossover network cable if neither has an uplink port as part of the lan if one of the routers does have an uplink then use a patch(straight) network cable and ensure one end is plugged into uplink and the other into lan :) I run a cable modem plugged into a 4 port cable router plugged into a 4 port wireless router and use the wireless router as an access point Sky will give you access to the modem router if you hassle them. Turn wireless off on this router and leave the rest set as default then follow instructions I gave for second router and it should work

Might be worth updating chipset drivers as Jelly says though MSI Global – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more this is a auto search might be worth running. There is not many drivers for this board on the manual search
-
Jelly it finds the OS just does not boot as the OP has been offered safe mode and start windows normally means it does post @ The op so the restart switch does not work? how about holding the off switch for 5-10 seconds? this should shut the system down. What was the system doing when it first froze? might be worth running memtest there is now a sticky there about how to do this in the article section

This is not an upgrade . The older p4 will possibly be a D model . Your new dual core cpu although clocked lower is a better cpu imo. If you want to upgrade your cpu then buy a E7400 or better still a Q6 series. Edit the E8 series cpus use and FSB of 1333 this board can only take upto 1066 cpus so I put the E7400 as this is 1066 -
dont waste your time mate :) if you can install some more memory

Help, no sound when linking tower to lcd tv!
zinglebarb replied to WeeOddBall's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
If the gFX card has svideo or composite output then we will not have a problem sovling it by goint into scart lead -
unless it has PC audio input or other none scart audio input
-
Yes but it connects to scart which also carries audio so you use what you linked to earlier either use the standard audio output or the headphones(not advised) this way you will get audio and video to the same AV channel where as if you use DSUB and have the TV on PC channel there will be no audio

This machine is AGP 2/4 speed there is no way on the face of the earth you are going to get audio through it. The only GFX cards that carry Audio natively are the newer ATI pci e graphics cards. The TV WILL need PC Audio input to have audio and VGA together through the TV -

My Sony Bravia has VGA input but no PC audio in. It also does not have RCA input either so you can not assign audio for use when the screen is on that input. To use audio going into a scart you needs to connect the pc to the TV via svideo or composite. -

headphone sockets are outputs not inputs you would need a pc audio input to get this to work with the VGA -

New PC + Vista = problems?

the machine doing that intermittently is hardware -
if you checked the mobo it has to be the psu imo

is that coretemps or sensor? run prime alongside cpuz and see if speedstep actualls kicks in. I run a D805 @ what I thought was 4 gig but speedstep was running it down a hell of a lot lower. I do not knwo the crystal program so I am unsure of its accuracy :)
-
is that die temp? you want to measure that under load . The die temp is ok upto around 70 (under full load)thats the die actual core you should get a reading for each of these. The freezer 7 pro should be fine :) The only way test an overclock is to load it. OCCT Website english this is a very harsh tesh if it lasts a good spell on this then you should be ok Another tip as long as you know what it should be is to manually set up your ram. SPD often gets ram wrong and if you have performance ram chances are is wrong Beware mate overclocking can become addictive ive had my play with it and had good results but now I just run my system @ stock speeds as its good enough
-
Thats Speedstep kicking in. CHeck your temps and if they aint high turn it off. (in bios) Checked your manual speedstep is down as CPU EIST CPU Thermal Monitor 2 also might need swtiching off Disclaimer only do this if you are sure your overclock isnt creating to much heat

New PC + Vista = problems?
zinglebarb replied to Quacker's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
If a customer come back to me and said I run memtest under advisement and it come up failing I would think nice one give sme somewhere to start. And as for looking in event viewer how can any of you say there is something wrong with that? its there its part of windows. How can a retailer complain at either of them? Look at the 3 things I advised . Turn off auto restart to get error code . Nothing wrong with that. Check Event Viewer. Nothing wrong with that Run memtest. Again nothing wrong with that. None of that advise is incorrect or invasive and certainly not grounds for voiding a warranty -

Trust me I know my rights and have had to invoke then a few times . If the shop does not play ball you could be in for a long battle back and forth back and forth as weeks turn to months. Just at the tail end of a long fought battle with Overclockers over a ATI4670 which had faulty GDDR from the off. The card was sent back to them and they "tested it" the card come back and they said it was ok. It went back to them and again they returned it. They said it was the power supply as OCZ are not very good ,I then had to point it out to them that they ship a lot of their AMD systems with OCZ power supplies. We liased with OCZ in Holland who got there UK rep involved we also liased with AMD who agreed it was GDDR but they did not see the card. We then had to get in touch with Powercolor in Thailand and Stokes trading standards and eventually OCUK were under so much pressure they swapped out the card out. Then came the battle for costs as postage was charged for each return to them and each return back so we kept hassling Trading Standards even though they are not the first port of call now you have to go through another body first so it drags on and on but we won in the end and OCUK had to refund the costs all in all this took 4 months. Moral quoting comsumer rights is not a sure fire way of a quick result :) -

simple software checks to gather some evidence to provide to the shop will not hurt. Whenever I communicate with after sales anywhere where I have a knowledge I make sure I let them know I know what I am on about and if they try to treat me like a noob they soon find themselves biting off more than they can chew ;) If this is a small retailer then I can see the OP pushed from pillar to post while this charlatan tries the blag. If for example there are hard drive errors showing up in Ev then you tell them that its a failing hard drive if the ram fails memtest then you tell them its the ram. The company will not have a leg to stand on as long as you do not open the case and start messing about. If however its a driver installed by the OP causing the crash then we could end up saving them money Incidentally ive had DEP crash a couple of Vista boxes lately and had to turn it off totally but the failed starts are whats bothering me
