Guest jbclem Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Both my administrator and a personal user account are corrupted. Everytime I boot up I'm in a temporary user account. I've removed the personal user account and added a new personal one(with administrator permissions). After rebooting into the new personal one, I tried to add another personal user account using the name of the corrupted one. But I get an error message saying that I can'tl add this user name because it "already has permission to use this computer". Apparently removing the user account wasn't enough. Does anyone know what I have to do to completely remove this account so that I can use the same name again? John
Guest John John (MVP) Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Re: can't remove corrupted user account I suspect that you only removed the profile in the System Properties Profile tab. Open the Local Users and Groups snap-in and remove the user account there. To open the snap-in enter lusrmgr.msc in the Start Menu Run box.
