  1. Goku that's great. You attached the reg fix file to delete those two filters from the registry. This will surely come in handy.
  2. If you are still running Norton and choose to remove it beware. Whether you uninstall it via add/remove in the control panel or with the Norton Removal tool things may go wrong so backup everything first. Personally I don't like Norton as I have had many problems the one time I did have it on a trial basis with Vista.
  3. All other things being equal It might be the Temporary Norton Suite. Possibly the firewall or possibly just Norton being buggy. Try disabling temporarily every aspect of Norton.
  4. That's the halloween spirit. Looks cool.
  5. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUD :)
  6. As the day approaches November 11 I thought I would add this link. Bookmark it and play it November 11 or on the day you observe a similar tribute in your country. In tribute to all the defenders of freedom everywhere.
  7. I get a range of 4-13 seconds on both browsers. With an occasional lag on both browsers. However FF can appear to be loading faster as it seems to display all the items as they load whereas IE tends to not show anything until more or all of the data is loaded.
  8. Now I'm afraid.
  9. I like that. So will the other trekkies here.
  10. This makes me wonder if the temporary internet files need to be deleted as I wouldn't think one open window should affect another. Have you done that recently?
  11. It's rare but possible that some bit of malware is still running in safe mode or has affected the basic Windows OS. Try what Seth said. Try changing it's executable to a different name then running that. Go to "C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe" and change the name from SUPERAntiSpyware.exe to something like SAS.exe Double click that file to execute the program. Another thing you should look into is if there are any suspect programs in add/remove. Uninstall those first before ALL the scans. Look in startup items in msconfig after that just to be sure. Reboot after the above just to be sure. The fact that you keep picking up new infections after the scans detect and remove them leads me to believe that malious programs that are installed are reinfecting your machine. Those should be removed FIRST before the scans. If they are not they may be the cause. P2P file sharing programs like limewire, bearshare etc or any other program that you can download free files should be suspect and removed first. These type of programs are the usual cause of this particular Trojan if it's the one I think it is.
  12. Seth I think those old TV remotes used the cutting edge technology called tuning forks. LOL I had one of those too.
  13. I only know HTML and I don't know what language your blog is written in or if it is using a program too. But one thing that might work is to eliminate the beginning and end tags. This might put the code as a text but it's hard to say without knowing more. It might render it as plain text then and hopefully won't break the rest of the page. Remove the < at the beginning and the > at the end of the statement. Better yet remove the < at the beginning and the </a> at the end. Then just add the comment that they will need to be added to the rest of the code.
  14. Have you tried enclosing the code with something like (code goes here)?
  15. That's great to hear gunslinger. Thanks for letting us know how it turned out.
  16. Ah. That's what it was. Thanks for clearing that up for me seth.
  17. The last time I looked at the SAS website it said that it would not run in safe mode but in the future they might come out with a version that will.
  18. Welcome to you too. Nice of you to add a welcome.
  19. You could disable SMART Monitoring in the BIOS. What keys you use to get into the BIOS depends on your computer. BIOS keys. The error could be legitimate which means your hard drive could be failing or it might not be. Given your previous issues it might be going bad but then again I would have thought that would have been detected during the install proccess. You could run chkdsk to see if there are any errors. Open Computer and right click the hard drive. Click Properties. Click Tools. In Error-checking click Check Now. If you just want to see the results of the scan and not fix anything uncheck both boxes and click Start. If you want it to find and repair physical errors on the drive select Scan For and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors. Was there any problems during the install and does everything appear to be working ok now except for the SMART error?
  20. Look in Device Managerfor any ! or ? to see if the drivers are missing. Try to determine the audio type while in there. Acer Support has drivers and applications for your model.
  21. It might also be wise to uncheck everything in the startup tap in msconfig related to stopzilla before uninstalling. Start>Run>type in msconfig>startup tab> uncheck stopzilla entries>apply ok etc>reboot.
  22. Ctrl-Alt-Delete should brink up the task manager. I don't understand what you mean by "other page" or why it would show a front fan etc.
  23. OK It seems this can be problematic sometimes. Let's just take some baby steps to start with and see if that works first. First of all keep System Restore on. FOR NOW. Update the scanners we suggested. Right click the stopzilla icon in the system tray. Click exit. Go to add/remove and uninstall it again. Run the scans agains. If everything works well let us know. If not there are other steps to take. I have heard where this program produces false positives.
  24. Very good Nev. You put it plainly which I like. Unfortunately for some people they no longer have the original email address for one reason or another. Sometimes it's because of an isp change or perhaps even an account being deactivated due to no activity. So keep those sites current with a current email address. I would like to add one more suggestion to yours. Make a master text file of all accounts, user id's, passwords, secret questions and answers etc. Keep it updated and back it up. Which reminds me, I need to update, consolidate and backup my passwords etc.
