OK let me get this straight. 1. You have reset IE7. 2. You have run the uninstaller. 3. You closed all open proccesses first. 4. You rebooted. 5. You ran the stand alone installer. Follow those steps in that order. What I fail to understand is your statement about downloading the flash player from the Microsoft page. Microsoft doesn't offer the flash player. Adobe does. Also have you tried all the steps at Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player installation for Windows It seems something on your system is blocking it. It could be malware, a security program, a firewall or something else.

JOE THE PLUMBER: Mcain touts to support people like Joe the plumber but Joe is not a licensed plumber even though he plumbs. Joe says he doesn't need a license since he only works for a company in his city. The city disagrees. The company only consists of the owner and Joe and purports to make close to $250,000 a year in profits. (Actually they don't make that clear but imply it) So is this profits or income? Either way Joe can not buy this company as he said he wanted to because he also said he sees no need to get a license. It seems to me he might not be able to afford it as he has no license and and has no intention of getting one and this is a two man company. There are so many things wrong with Joe and Mcains story. I've noticed Mcain has distanced himself from Joe since the debate. Why? Because it seems the company and Joe may be engaging in illegal practices. Perhaps. Also consider that Mcain slanted the story to say that this business made over $250,000 profit and that would cause it to suffer increased taxes under Obamas plan. A two man business that has $250,000 in profits is Mcains idea of small business suffering because Obamas plan calls for a 4% increase on profits above that. Does anyone here make $125,000 a year? (profit) Maybe Joe needs health care and a pension. Forget that. He is not licensed and does not belong to a union. No matter. If he makes $125,000 a year he can afford private insurance. Do you see the problem and issues here? I could go on but it seems Mcain is toutiing the rich not having to pay a paltry percentage more while supporting Joe and his rich company who's practices may or may not be dubvious. For the record I made $40,000 a year before I recently retired from a great Union job. Not $125,000. The average American probably makes half that. The bottom line is does the average American worker have any sympathy for a two man company that purports to have a $250,000 a year profit which equates to $125,000 a year per person? This company also employs Joe an unlicensed plumber. Mcain supports this company or more likely grasped at straws because in reality the average person in Mcains eyes does not exist.

MY latest update: Colin Powell a long time friend of Mcain has come out as fully supporting Obama. He cites Obama as being more able to cope with the current financial crises and being more in tune with the the need for change and a new style that the people want. He also cites Obamas ability to motivate and lead the new generation. As for Mcains choice of Vice President he says that Sara Palin is not qualified to assume the role of President. General Colin Powell is regarded highly in the USA above most of the rest. We shall see if this will have an impact on the elections November 4th.

Good. Your system should be clean now. To help keep it that way look at the FPCH suggested security programs. The Adobe Flash Player download and installation has been a problem for many. I usually uninstall it by using the Flash Player uninstaller. Next use the stand alone installer instead of installing it from the main download page. Flash Player 10 is the latest version. Pay close attention to the instructions and reboot as needed. I suggest to reboot after the uninstall. Good luck.

It's a zip file bee. It's showing a rar icon because like you said you have a rar extractor installed and it has taken over the compressed file formats. Why do you have a rar extractor program installed? rar files can contain malicious code if they don't come from a trusted site. Where did you get the rar extractor and which one is it and why do you need it? I ask because issues like this can cause serious issues and infections.

Good idea. After you learn more how it works you can help with the questions other members have.

The site you list is one I have used and have no problem with it. "TotalIdea" I'm not convinced however that you need this. FF is already fast. The download is a zip file not a rar file. As such just right click it and choose EXTRACT ALL. This should prompt you to extract it to a folder that is in the same location as the zip file unless you change it. Open the new unzipped file to install it. If you can't find it you could do a search or just extract it again or download it again. Pay attention to the save in folder.

I use both regularly. I don't bother with add-ons for FF. FF will let you choose what player to open downloads. It doesn't matter if you choose IE or FF as a default browser. Like Bob said it's a matter of choice but I mainly use IE. However there are times I prefer FF.

Guest account, full file access

I checked my Standard account and turned on the Guest account. Although I can use Explore to navigate to the Administrator files and folders under Users and can see them I cannot access them. I get permission denied errors. So this might be a permissions settings that you have allowed from the Administrator account. While in the Administrator account right click a folder or file then click properties then click the security tab. Check the permissions for it after you select the Guest account. Keep in mind that another account may be able to see what files and folders are there but they can't open them unless you gave permissions to. As far as installed programs it depends. Some programs will install to all accounts and some won't. Others will ask first if you want to install to just the one account or all accounts. So I guess the next question would be exactly what has full access allowed. Is it your documents or pictures or programs or what? -
Agreed. OK What does everyone think about Mcain's plan to tax employer health benefits as income? This would mean employees and retirees would have to pay tax on these. Not the companies. It would amount to taxing the FULL cost of these benefits. So if your companies plan was worth $1,000 a month or $12,000 a year for family coverage and you were in the 40% bracket you would have to pay $4,800 in taxes for the first time ever in the history of the USA. This is at the same time as coverage is less, co-pays are higher and employers are demanding more premiums from employees. It seems to me the workers are already picking up all the extra costs and Mcain wants to tax us more on it. To me this seems like a plan to tax the poor and middle class.

I'm not a gamer so you may want to wait for more feedback from the members. I have looked at the specs for some games and have seen systems where the programs give warnings like that when trying to install. It usually comes down to not having the proper hardware to support the game. On another note even if you meet the minimum specs I would suggest you look at the recommended specs on all levels. For high end games 512 MB might not even be close as well as other specs. And games are needing more and more all the time. I've said it before and I'll say it again. For the highest end games to play now and in the future you will need a really good computer. You may want to consider a game machine like an Xbox or something similar.

I've seen Norton removal screw up a lot of computers. Sometimes the Norton removal tool doesn't even help. Just a bad piece of software in my opinion. You are not alone.
