  1. I'm sure the fact that Seagate just got rid of a load of employees hasnt helped them
  2. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  3. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  4. In terms of 'value for money' quads offer more 'bang' for your money and you can add them into a variety of MOBO's you just need to make sure that the MOBO supports your needs - no point getting one with 6 SATAII ports if you only intend on having one or two HDD's, as little things like this bump the price up - you are also more than likely going to need different RAM than you currently have - Go for a Q6600 and whatever MOBO and RAM suit your budget and requirement - JUST make sure the MOBO takes the Q6600 Oh and have a look at my build guide for building a PC :) Its in my sig
  5. Black pudding is GROSS - its just blood and fat and thats just GRIM
  6. no worries - let us know if you have any issues
  7. Cooler master have always copied Antec designs :)
  8. And only use this in short bursts as it can cause condensation on components
  9. Have a look at my build guide in terms of actually making a pc yourself we would be here to help you every step of the way and you could customise components and save some cash
  10. Also make sure that you have the PC options so that the screen is NOT permanently on as it can cause the image to 'burn' onto the screen most TV's do this themselves now to stop it happening, but its better to check, your friend is talking nonsense as 90% of people now use LCD in one form or another - not many people have the huge CRT monitors now :)
  11. The fastest way is the reset button on the front of the pc as opposed to the power button. No Doug he should not be doing that - it may save him a few seconds here or there but it could be at your expense, programs running etc can be lost and the OS could get damaged
  12. It is - I use them all the time - them or Scan.co.uk Have a look at the bottom left of their page and you see Thwarte - click on it and see what it says same with McAfee They also have the internet shopping is safe accreditation and the delivery one - pay more notice to the thwarte one though
  13. Some PC's do have the ability to do this Especially on 'gaming machines' the fans run on for 2-5 minutes after you turn the PC off so that the components do not fry :D
  14. Check that your sound and GPU drivers are up to date as this can also contribute to this problem
  15. You need more RAM installing in the PC
  16. I would personally use a dongle as it can be used on any machine if need be - as for the speakers as Polo has said bluetooth are better as 'wireless' speakers are normally very expensive. Most laptops now come with 4-8 USB slots so taking up one with a dongle still leaves plenty - Check that there isnt a button on the laptop somewhere for the wireless to be enabled. its also sometimes done via the FN (function) key and one of the F buttons :)
  17. Ha ha - ok then compare it to my Lian Li case then and see what your results find :p If you fill all the fans in both cases my friend you will find the Antec wins hands down ANTEC
  18. AMD CPU's are fine as Wolfey has said, but they are not as fast or as price competitive as Intel - Intel are at the moment the best chip to have as you get more speed for your money. Also dont think that you NEED a quad chip - it depends on the PC's primary use as to whether a double or quad chip is better
  19. D-Link routers are a NIGHTMARE even ones that are correctly setup - I had 3 at one point one after another as they were all cabbaged - replaced them with a NETGEAR and not looked back since Have you been into the routers settings and checked that everything is configured correctly?
  20. I'll help - air in at the front - 2 or 3 fans if possible and 1 at the back at the top and 1 in the case roof - funnily enough just like the Antec P180 :D
  21. lol - just to clarify this will have a negative effect on cooling as there will be lots of pressure in the case - not good for cooling temps - and it will be noisy and each fan will use 10W of power  That being said they did a neat job of the cabling - well from the outside :D
  22. wont be long before your PC fries Doug - make sure that you set the fans higher than normal
  23. Have a look in my build guide and do it yourself - you just slot it in and put some screws in the side to the make it supported by the case - As Polo says they are the same GPU - they are just cooled and clocked differently. The only reason I said the HIS is that the cooling is far superior to any of the other brands - but the diamond will be fine :)
