  1. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  2. I just wanted to bring your attention to the fact that AVG is not a very good AV -and you would be far better off getting AVAST or AVIRA free version :)
  3. Writing an OS would involve a lot of Cash as Goku has already said. Microsoft, Linux and Google are not small companies I agree that they had to start somewhere but even so.....you will need a hefty backing on this one Axalto and more than just one person capable of C++
  4. Fan controllers come with the slots at the back for just plugging the fans directly into them - normally via extended cables. I would not recommend getting lots of small fans as they are normally very noisy to start with - the bigger the better running as slow as you can to get rid of the heat build up is what you need. Most fan controllers will have 4 available slots for fans. I would recommend that you keep the CPU one in the MOBO - so that it can shut it down should it ever need to :D
  5. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  6. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :) Glad that we could be of assistance, we do try and cater for members of all skills and abilities :)
  7. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  8. Hi Matt, You are far better off running a fan controller than using onboard in a high spec syetem - as you can see more of whats going on and inturn control the speeds as and when you need to. You can obviously do this on some MOBO's but no where near to the extent as a fan controller. Glad the pics are on the way :D
  9. Hi, Welcome to FPCH :)
  10. There is no explanation other than the AV's are out of date, either by having no password - even the free ones need a password (AVAST anyway) or you are not allowing them access to the internet
  11. Let us know how you get on mate - Media player is aweful in my opinion and I myself have had issues. I have a 360 in the front room and I stream media and music from my server to it via media player -once the files are set up as in the loactions on the 360 if you ever insert a new file or music then what happens is the name stays the same - even if you rename it on the server and thats because it will not register the change - Nor will media centre, but the server will. It is very odd - but like you say its searching for a default file and when it cannot find it - its reverting the older one.
  12. Right - check that the SATA drive is plugged in and powered - at the HDD end and the MOBO end. Boot the PC - set the BIOS options to first boot device - HDD and DISABLE the others - SAVE and EXIT the BIOS. when it restarts does the System get to the OS?
  13. If I am honest - there are far better products available than the ones that Slysoft do. I find that their software is 'clunky' and extremely resource hungry - even though it uses so much resources it is still far slower than software that uses less resources.
  14. If and when you check for updates - there is a section that says - optional hardware updates - if there is one it will be in there - I would not think that the config would change - thats not to say it cant but it is very unlikely
  15. Dell over Acer any day.
  16. Have you dropped the laptop? have you pulled or tilted the screen too far? Sounds to me like the ribbon that connects the monitor to the laptop has come loose - or maybe broken - or the screen has just died - its hard to diagnose - so plug another external monitor in and see if that works
  17. Right - if its a good GPU and you have 2 of them and a processor like that - you are looking at around 700 Watt minimum really
  18. I have to apolagise here - I am finding what you are trying to explain hard to understand. Is there a physical window? if so then you should be able to grab one of the corners and shrink the size of the window
  19. No its not a coincidence - it may be that AOL refreshes your licence that often - get in toch with them and kick off!
  20. You do need punkbuster for some of the more popular ones - check the ports first - but I will still say that PB is a pain
  21. I doubt something corrupted, it seems more like their is an issue with the configuration itself - Do you have the latest Service pack and updates - there may be an optional update available in windows update for the drive. Other than that I cannot think what is happening - are all your USB devices doing this or just the HDD?
  22. Unless you buy a new HDD and install the OS to that - you may get the data off the other drive at another time
  23. I karate chopped your mum because I'm sexy and do what I want :) Very good Bonnie -
