MS Office 2007 updates failing to install on XP Pro
Goku replied to russbarnes's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
OK, it seems that any of the updates you are trying to install do not apply to your version. Please download Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 (Trial Version) from here. After the download is complete, remove your existing copy of Microsoft Office completely by using Advanced's instructions above. Next, double-click on the downloaded file and the installation will begin. Continue with the install until you are prompted to enter your key. Enter your existing licence key and see if the installation accepts it or not. If it does, then continue with the install. If it doesn't, then skip that step. After the installation is complete, reboot your computer. Try downloading and installing the updates now. See if it helps or not. Good Luck. :) -- Goku -

We, at Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help, strongly recommend Nod32 as a resident AntiVirus because it offers real-time protection, has a very high detection rate and is very efficient on resources too. If you want a free alternative, then you might want to consider Avira AntiVir. I personally would ditch McAfee as it is known to cause major conflicts and crashes. At the end of the day, it is your opinion that matters. :) -- Goku- 5 replies

Problems With XP and IE since Rebuild & Reinstall
Goku replied to vampyrusddg's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Here is a simple trick to fix Windows system no sound problem. The trick works by using a tool built into K-Lite Codec Pack. 1. Download and install K-Lite Codec Pack version 3.3.0 Full from here or here. You can deselect most components that you don’t need, except Codec Tweak Tool under the Tools section. 2. After installed, click on Start button, then go to All Programs -> K-Lite Codec Pack -> Configuration -> Codec Tweak Tool. 3. In the Codec Tweak Tool window, tick the check box next to [Registry] Fix non-working system sound. http://www.babooforum.com.br/forum/uploads/monthly_09_2007/post-30576-1189904153.jpeg 4. Click on Next button, and your Windows no sound problem should be fixed, and working as usual. Please try the above instructions and see if they help or not. Good Luck. :) -- Goku -
Portable hard drive encrypted and lost
Goku replied to bleh1988's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Hello and Welcome to FPCH Bleh. :) The problem you are facing seems to be due to a bug in Windows XP. Thankfully, there is a Hotifx from Microsoft available to resolve the issue. Here is the Knowledge Base article that links to it. New drive or mapped network drive not available in Windows Explorer Download and install the recommended Hotfix and reboot your computer. Now, plug in the drive and see if it is detected or not. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck. :) Also, never format your removable drive if it has valuable data on it. There is no guarantee that a file recovery program will be able to recover your data back. -- Goku -
