  5. Just created my first WCF Windows Service and WPF Client connecting to it. The problem is its default SecurityMode is "Message" and they can't connect. If I use "BasicHttpBinding()" it works fine however it seems that I shouldn't use it. So instead I use "WSHttpBinding WSHB = new WSHttpBinding()" but I also do "WSHB.Security.Mode = SecurityMode.None;" ... Now, is this still somewhat secure and just without the NT login need or is it as unsecure as "BasicHttpBinding()" ? Thanks! [ Sorry my formatting gets lost in Opera ] More... 7. Ok, my first post, hope it's the right forum. I need an example of a typical master detail scenario done in WPF (C#). The ones I've found won't allow editing of the details. I need a grid*containing one combo box for the master key value and a couple of editable combo boxes for detail values. I have observable collections for master and detail but I can't get it working. How should the bindings be set? Thanks for any info, Rainer Engblom More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

  12. I'm trying to write a client application to manage some data on a SQL server, this client could be used by several users at the same time. Questions : 1. Is there any other way to connect to the SQL server without needing the clients to connect directly to it by TCP/IP port opening? It kind'a feels weird opening up SQL server ports? or is it "normal" and OK ? 2. When two users using same field, how would you lock that field? Like if one user opens it up, the field locks (read only) for the other user? 3. If I got this correctly, I'll need to buy atleast Visual Studio 2008 Standard to do the above, since express editions won't connect to remote SQL servers? Thanks! More...
