I was wondering if you guys can simply look up an Interface or a class and implement it, by just using the resources on MSDN. I've recently read about UI Virtualization, so I tried implementing the interface IScrollInfo, and frankly, the MSDN docs are alien to me. I've found a great tutorial by BenCon, on his blog, on how to implement the IScrollInfo interface, but as I was reading through it, I was wondering how he would know how to do it, if he didn't have access to the developers who created the framework. Well, I'm not sure if he did or didn't but he seems to work for Microsoft, so I assume he would have inside info on how to. So let me reiterate. Can YOU look at the IScrollInfo interface specs and implement it without any inside knowledge? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Hey All, Just a question, i've got a few*little hackers hacking away at my SQL Server running on my dedicated server so I have a lot of entries simular to the entry below, just copied this from the event log the thing is what the guy don't know is that 5 bad login attempts it will deny logins to that* IP for 15 minutes but hes still sending his requests. Anyway the question, I need SQL Server opening upto me via a VPN tunnel i've configured an IP Policy to block SQL Server to remote connection (port 1433) but I can still connect without going through VPN, is their something i'm missing? How secure is SQL server facing the internet anybody got any stories? Please feel free to give the below IP a DoS attack because he's been going for about 4 hours and starting to get on my nerves! Login failed for user 'sa'. [CLIENT: 209.51.201.242] Cheers, Rob More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

http://www.w3bdevil.com/misc/nspireunboxing.zip I'll probably do a blogpost (wait... I've got a blog?) about it eventually. There's scant information on the specifics of this particular handheld. Most people seem to be going for the less-expensive non-CAS blue variant. Key points: It's big. Huge, in fact. Contrary to miniaturisation this thing is is a dump-truck It's also heavy. The buttons-between-buttons aren't a problem if you type with your index finger at an angle to the keypad rather than perpendicularly The contrast keys appear to have zero effect, under certain lighting conditions the display is hard to read And the smaller type with 1px wide lines also makes entering instructions hard You need to download and install a free OS update to add support for Polar plots and the program editor Doing common tasks can be slower than with older models, like the Ti-83 since screens take longer to open and navigate. Unlike on the Ti-83 you can't define a plot in 1 key-press. You have to switch document tabs and stuff The omnidirectional d-pad to control the cursor is effective, but the screen's response times are too slow to see the cursor, it's too blurry when moving and hard to keep track of It's expensive in the UK (£150), but you can shave up to 40% off by importing through the USAAny other maths-heads want to comment? :) More... Since we can't truly slipstream SP1 into Vista....and the reverse image build thing is a HUGE PAIN in the arse will a downloadable ISO of Vista w/SP1 be made available to all the PowerTogether Vista Biz users like myself? Failing that is there a number we can call to order a new DVD if we supply our PowerTogether serial #? I'd gladly pay shipping charges for the convenience when it comes time to reinstall. Can someone with some MS connections help us out on this? Thanks More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Comcast Cheats Network Neutrality
NewsBot posted a topic in Microsoft Products Support & Discussions
I hit C9 about 5 minutes ago, and noticed that it was running very, very slow.* I tested a few other sites, and again, all surfing was running at a snails pace. But. I hit http://www.numion.com/YourSpeed3/*and didn't even get around to testing the speed, because as soon as I hit that site, suddenly, my surfing speed was back up to normal. This is yet another reason why these jokers need to be forced into network neutrality.* They will offer up shiite speeds unless someone actually tests it out. b@stards. More...
