Spam, Spam, Spam. I guess the definition of spam is rather vague. I check my e-mail box, I find something there I didn't ask for that is annoying, it's spam. In this context I guess spam would be anything anyone finds offensive or irrelevant. So, by that definition, this post is spam to someone, and I will go ahead and mark it as such. Moving past that I guess I'm at a loss as to what the spam button is supposed to be used for. Is it just for the google juicers trying to sling junk. Or can we also use it as troll retardant? If Duncan or Charles could lay down some kind of best practice here, or at least a guideline, I would appreciate it. What do other niners think? Should it be used just for ad spammers, or for trolls and irrelevant content (A !, Raymond, Corona, Shooby, etc)? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

I'd like to point out that this is not a flame post before I start. Where do you go to submit an issue to Microsoft about Vista? Normally I'd go to Microsoft Connect and add a report to what I am testing there. I can't see any section for Vista though. Anyone have any idea's? Ta More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

James Silva was one of the stars of GDC 2008, presenting his good work in a keynote where good things were announced by the XNA People...* James created the winning entry in a recent XNA contest. His game is based on his experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant where he wasn't afforded proper respect. The result of this legitimate angst*is the XNA-based (managed XNA, specifically, fully written in C#)*Dishwasher Death Samurai :) I caught up with James and a few XNA People, Program Managers Mitch Walker and Michael*Klutcher,*to discuss James' game, XNA (what does XNA stand for, anyway? What does XNA encompass from a platform perspective? What does the recent XBox Live Arcade announcement mean? We also get to see an XNA game running on a Zune (very cool!). And there's more... Is there any way to have Vista default to just one folder view for all folders?* I tried setting it via the traditional Folder properties->Apply to All Folders, but randomly, it'll go back to a clunky view, and then I have to reset it again. And some folders don't have that Customize tab, so I can't set the folder view default.* It gets annoying when I'm browsing the folders in details view, and go to my CD drive, and it brings up a grouped by type, and large icons.* Then when I change it back to details, and put in a new CD, it's back to the grouped large icons view.* I tried to uncheck the "Save individual folder settings" checkbox hoping that it'll use a default for everything, but it always insists on changing the view to what it thinks is best, even though I did a "Apply to All Folders". Very annoying. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
