While reading about that chap who mugged a fella outside Starbucks, came across this piece in one of the comments on the original story. Why doesn't it work? Okay, it does work. You activate the debug stuff and change the user agent. * So it can work; so why can't it just ... work; if you know what I mean. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

w3bbo will probably know; I'm sure he's discussed this before. I have a friend who wants a tablet PC where the screen will accept pressure sensitivity like a Wacom tablet so they can draw on it as they would on an external pad. Preferably one that works with wacom pens too. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

A colo provider I'm thinking of going with has a limit of 0.5A per unit rackspace. Given your average rackmount has an AMD Opteron or Xeon in it, is it possible to stay under the 0.5A limit or is it too restrictive? 240V * 0.5A gives 120W of power. That really doesn't seem enough to power a server box. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Seen on the web. Q: Should I have a baby after 35? A: No, 35 children is enough. Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move? A: With any luck, right after he finishes college. Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex? A: Childbirth. Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational. A: So what's your question? Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right? A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current. Q: When is the best time to get an epidural? A: Right after you find out you're pregnant. Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor? A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you. Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth? A: Yes, pregnancy. Q: Do I have to have a baby shower? A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly. Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again? A: When the kids are in college. More... I have a question regarding .net Serialization... Heres an example to help illustrate my question. What happens if I have*a custom business object similar to this: [serializable] public class Customer { *******public CustomerName {get{}set{} } and i build serialization/deserialization code for this entity so that it can be*written and read back from an*xml file. (no problems so far..the world is round) Now, I decide I need an extra field in my business entity and so I change it to this... [serializable] public class Customer { *******public CustomerName {get{}set{} *******public CustomerPhone {get{}set{} } Now..can i still deserialize*the xml file that* I created before the object was modified? thanks in advance! Greetings from the Internet Explorer Team! We are nearing the launch of Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 and we will be making it available for the general public to download and test. IE8 Beta 1 is focused on the developer community, with the goal of gaining valuable feedback to improve Internet Explorer 8 during the development process. We have identified you as a qualified beta tester and we would like to offer an opportunity to join our limited technical beta program for Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1. Participation in the Technical Beta will enable you to evaluate a common release of Windows Internet Explorer 8, the ability to submit feedback, post bug reports, download software answer surveys on product quality as well as vote on top bugs filed by others from the technical beta program. This is a very exclusive program, by invitation only. The only way to submit feedback is to enroll in the Windows Internet Explorer 8 Technical Beta program. As such, we would be happy to have your participation. To accept this invitation and to apply to become a member of this program, follow this link: removed for obvious reasons (If this link does not work for you, copy the full link and paste it into the Web browser address bar.) Follow the steps shown to you by that program to apply to become an active participant. You may be asked to take a survey, or submit other preliminary information. To report a problem or to ask a question, visit the Contact Us page (found at the bottom of every page). We hope to see you in the technical beta! Best regards. The Internet Explorer Team If you do not want to be invited to participate in other Microsoft Connect programs, change the contact preference you have set on your Microsoft Connect Profile (http://connect.microsoft.com/myparticipation.aspx). This is an unmonitored e-mail address, so do not reply to this message. Saw it on another forum, I didn't get invited. :( Anyone else got in? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Now that the war for the next generation DVD format seem to be over, I am wondering: what is the point of all that? Higher definition content? Maybe. Better protection from pirated copies? Mmmm... Shouldn't the future of DVD (and disks in general) be (legal) downloads? Microsoft has been doing that in some countries with XBox Live, Apple announced the same service (although messy European regulations are delaying the service in a few countries), but don't you feel we could be years ahead? Just a thought. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
