  2. Well, I am quite certain that alot of people have posted about problems with getting Vista and XP to connect.* I've done a bit of searching, and so far the same thing is the same.* However, it doesn't seem to work for me at all, and also to note, it's usually Vista can see and access XP, but XP cannot see and access Vista, am I right? Well, for me, it's quite the reverse.* You see, XP can see and access Vista just fine, but however, as much as I tried (I even enabled netBIOS in the WINS tab) nothing seems to work in the reverse. Hopefully this linked PDF diagram will make (at least somewhat) clear what my problem is. [[XP and Vista can ping the router, and XP can ping Vista, but Vista cannot ping XP]] So far I've tried: Enabling netbios on XP AND Vista running the Network Setup Wizard on XP (several times I might add) disabling Password Protection for my networkI haven't touched anything on my Belkin wireless router. And might I add, this has been happening from day 1 (for my laptop, never had anything on the network other than just the single XP desktop.) More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

  5. Hi! we just install TFS 2008 and the web access. In our team we use Project 2007 (without project server) and want to use it with TFS 2008 on the TFS 2008 web access. Is anywhere a good tutorial / video / web cast available how to use MS project 2007 with TFS 2008? Kind Regards, Pawel B. More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds
  6. The Recording Industry Association of America has decided to go for the end game according to the Washington Post. In their latest campaign against the folk who ultimately pay their wages, the organisation is ready to take Jeffrey Howell to court over his 'illegal copying' of over 2000 CDs in his music collection.* In what could be the most important case yet, the RIAA is taking the position that copying music and storing it on a computer is illegal, even if it is only for personal use. How can you draw inside the Title bar of a windows form (thinking Vista here) and still keep the min/max/close buttons from C# / C++ For overview, I'm thinking of drawing a custom app-icon style thing, simmilar to the Office2007 office-button-thing. Well my brothers PC died.* After trying several things to fix it, I gave up.* So today we went computer shopping.* After hearing about Windows XP SP3 and the activatuion nightmare I had with my moms laptop with Windows Vista, my brother and his wife decided on a Mac.* Considering I wont be living in this area much longer its much easier to deal with, less prone to support calls and they like Macs, they had one for years before.* So this is at least one case where Microsofts software would have been more of an inconvenience. 17. During the off days, I was able to go to Valhalla.* It's a great place to visit. There seems to be a transportation system that takes you to places instantaneously. I really like it. There is so much to do. They even let you do some recreational flying there. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_flying.jpg Although, just because it's nice, don't forget to be prepared. Bring your first-aide kit, for those unforeseen oopsies. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_leg_shot.jpg It did take a little time getting acclimated to the hilly terrain. Like this one time, I tripped while going for a light jog. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_tripping.jpg There is so many fun things to do. For example, you can re-create a John Woo movie scene. But be careful, some people can be so careless with their weapons. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_woo.jpg Valhalla is a great sanctuary for marine life. Just make sure you stay clear of those famous exploding Japanese puffer fish. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_water_hazards.jpg Being paradise, it's not free of rude people. The least one of those blue guys could say is "excuse me" for bumping into me. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_rude.jpg I just like this very dramatic shot. I'm not sure what that blue guy was doing down there. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_heroic%20stance.jpg Having a flying facility is cool, perhaps they should think about a fly training school. Some people are just not good fliers. http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_flying%20hazards.jpg I'm not sure quite what happened here. I saw a blue guy toss something away, went to investigate it. Next thing, I remembered, kaboom! http://minh.truong.images.s3.amazonaws.com/halo_dont_pick_up.jpg Overall, it was quite a fun experience. That is if you remember that you're here to relax. 18. Hm... more CSS trouble : my design looks like : ==logo======= ||*********|| ||*CONTENT || ||*********|| ||*********|| ============= I need to devide the "CONTENT" area into 2 section, left|right. Left is the navigation menu, right will be content. My problem is : 1. The "CONTENT" (blue area) needs to be "almost" in the middle so it has to be 100px from top, 10px from bottom, 200px from left and 50px from right of the screen. 2. Inside "CONTENT" is devided into two sections. The left section needs to be 200px, and the right section needs to be "100%" as in "Fill the rest of it". It seems that it isn't possible to do so? When I put two DIVs inside the "CONTENT", with margin-left and margin-top I can set them in starting position correctly, however, if I set the "right" section to "height:100%;width:100%" it goes right off the screen to the right since it starts somewhere from the middle. What I am trying to do : *Menu**Content ==logo======= ||***|*****|| ||***|*****|| ||***|*****|| ||***|*****|| ============= What I get : ==logo======= ||***|*****||***************** ||***|*****||*off screen area* ||***|*****||***************** ||***|*****||**************** ============= *************************off screen area******** ************ The "content" goes off the screen ;( I tried "margin-bottom" and "margin-right" but it doesn't seem to affect it at all. Oh, also : The left|right (green|purple) sections are inside a parent container DIV ( position:absolute;left:0;top0;width:100%;height:100% ) More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds
  19. I don't claim to have the biggest, best, or fastest machine out there, but my compy certainly isn't a piece of crap, either.* And yet, there are times when all 4Gig of ram, an 4400Ghz of cpu cycles sit there and do nothing for annoyingly long periods of time.* Clicking on a link in outlook will cause the virus scan software to lock the entire machine up for 5-10 seconds.* Previously, when I stupidly tried OneCare, it would take close to 20 seconds for IE to display a window.* Boot time is a fun game of "Are you sure everything is loaded up yet, cuz sh*t won't work until it does" I can't figure out how it is that an entire OS can be brought to it's knees by a malfunctioning IE window.* Is there some reason why*both cores on a dual core CPU need to be busy on the same task? I'm using XP, but I fear that this hasn't improved in Vista, either.* Does your machine hang for unreasonable amounts of time at unneccessary moments? More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

  21. Hm... I'm having serious issues with a design of mine. I made it at first with tables and no CSS but it felt kind'a lame doing it. So I'm redoing it all... My design must have a fixed set of borders around the "content", I got 2 "pillars" on each side of the content as well where they are attached to bottom of screen so if I resize the window the pillars are on bottom. If the content is to "scroll" the fixed set of design around it shouldn't "move" that's why I used an IFRAME in the start. I managed to make it all with CSS but now I'm not sure if "IFRAME" is something I should use? Or should I just cut the page in several sections and use "FRAMES" instead? EDIT : I added doctype "" to make some of the CSS work correctly, however this doctype doesn't seem to like "IFRAME" ? The design is something like this : ==logo======= ||*********|| ||*CONTENT*|| ||*********|| ||*********|| ============= More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds
  22. I've installed ffdshow tryouts and Media Player Classic, but when I try to play a DivX file within MPC I can hear the audio, but there's no video being displayed. 25. For your information, there are major problems with C8, C9 beta, on10, TechNet Edge and Mix with Firefox 3. I'd hazard to guess that you're using browser sniffing for specific versions of Firefox. The problems range from broken layouts, to content not appearing, to links/buttons not doing anything. C8 Silverlight doesn't load, obviously due to browser sniffing, because it works on most other sites. Comments do not loadC9 Beta All of the above Forum threads and icons don't load (listing + individual posts) The main navigation bar does not fully stretch across the pageon10 The main image/video doesn't show up beside posts on the home page, except for the top post. Comments are all messed up and avatars don't loadTechNet Edge The main navigation bar does not fully stretch across the page The layout of each post on the home page is completely messed up. Comments seem to load normally. :O The "Perimeter" page looks nothing like it does in IE7, "sniff sniff", and the layout is broken.Mix On the home page, the layout for each post is broken Comments are viewable, but the layout is again brokenFirefox 3 may be a beta, but I've never encountered such major problems on any other sites before.
