Below are the steps to help you install your desired language pack: 1. Go to Control Panel. 2. Then click Clock, Language, and Region 3. [...] More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

Why does Microsoft enforce that themes must be digitally signed by them? Why not let others create themes and share them? In Vista, you have more flexibility by being able to at least change the colors. I dislike third-party add-ons. Anyways, I want to know just why Microsoft feels that themes should only be made by them? More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

I've searched and have noted a number of people are requesting it. But as yet, I've been unable to find them. So, does anybody know where the symbols for the latest Vista SP1 RC are ? I'd prefer an Internet based symbol server, but standalone symbols would be better than nothing. PS: They don't seem to be on http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols More... There are problems installing iTunes 7.5 on a 64-bit Vista after Quicktime gets installed successfully. The problem could be because iTunes wants to install in an unsecured setting that is why they want VBScript to be enabled. To enable VBScript simply type “regsvr32 vbscript.dll” in the command console. Just make sure you run the console in [...] More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

A simple 3D designer that you can use to produce fairly complex figures. The ability to load textures, generate normal data, wireframe, etc is also included. The most interesting feature is the ability to morph from one figure to the other. Why a 3D designer?! Well because a class I had. So I decided to share my ability to produce bugs with the rest of the niners. http://channel9.msdn.com/Photos/368015.jpg Download the project More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

Let's say that I give you a USB drive with 10 Word documents. How will you convince me that the files are not corrupted? Answer: You can't. What if I told you that the files should not have been modified since January 1,*gave you the MD5 hash for each file, and told you that the hash was generated at the end of the day on January 1? Answer: It would be trivial to check. Is there anything in between? More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

Hello all. I am having a bit of trouble connecting to my access database. *** Public Sub ReturnUsers(ByVal connectionString As String) ******* Dim queryString As String = "SELECT * FROM users;" ******* Using connection As New Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection(connectionString) *********** Dim command As New Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand(queryString, connection) *********** connection.Open() *********** Dim reader As Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader = command.ExecuteReader() *********** Try *************** While reader.Read() ******************* Console.WriteLine(String.Format("{0}, {1}", _ *********************** reader(0), reader(1))) *************** End While *********** Finally *************** ' Always call Close when done reading. *************** reader.Close() *********** End Try ******* End Using *** End Sub That's how I'm returning the users in the database. My connection string is : "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("users.mdb") The error I'm getting is Keyword not supported: 'provider'. I'm having trouble understanding why it's giving me this error when I got the connectionstring from connectionstrings.com Any insight would help. Much thanks and happy holidays. More... Although Vista's been out for quite a while, I'm sad to say I'm still a noob. I'm trying to help my mother-in-law w/ a little issue on her laptop.** I can't get Control Panel to open.* I can access individual items by browsing the Control Panel tree in Windows Explorer. What I've tried so far... 1) Starting and stopping the Software Licensing service.* That seems to fix the issue for a lot of people.* Didn't help in this case. 2) Removing non-Microsoft *.cpl files from System32.* Didn't help. 3) Installing a hotfix which many people claimed fixed the issue for them.* Didn't help. 4) Uninstalling the ATI graphics drivers.* Also reinstalled.* Didnt' help. 5) Starting in Safe Mode, Control Panel opens fine.* However, I don't have any idea how to determine which specific driver, service or executable is causing the problem. Other info... 1) When I get to the Personalize panel manually, the Mouse Pointers link appears to do nothing when I click it. 2) From Programs and Features, clicking the task "View Installed Updates" does nothing. 3) Performance and reliability montitor is virtually clean except for a few Firefox crashes and one Outlook crash. Unfortunately, mother-in-law has no recollection of when the problem started.* Here's what's been installed on the system: ATI Catalyst Install Manager Syunaptics Pointing Device Driver Applie Mobile Device Support Apple Software Update iTunes Quicktime Adobe Flash Player Plugin Mozilla Firefox MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB941833) pdfFactory MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB936181) HP Update HPSSupply Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB929729) avast!
