  1. I just bought a mini-DVD camcorder (my son's first nativity play on Friday, so I thought I'd become camcorder-dad). I want to be able to rip my recorded DVDs onto my PC and edit/merge the resulting files. I'm pretty sure I can rip them through Media Center, but I don't believe I have editing abilities in Media*Center to splice things about. I have Vista Ultimate, in case there's something already there that I missed. Anyone got any recommendations? Must be Vista compatible and preferably cheap\free. Herbie More... 14. After downloading the Internet Explorer Cumulative Security Update for December 2007, some customers using IE6 on Windows XP Service Pack 2 have experienced an unexpected crash or hang upon launching Internet Explorer. This might occur while navigating to a website hosting considerable media content (for example: http://msn.com) resulting in Internet Explorer displaying a dialog that states “Internet Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to close”. If you experience this issue, implement the applicable workaround provided in the following knowledge base article: Microsoft Knowledge Base article 946627For your security, we strongly recommend that you deploy the Internet Explorer Cumulative Security Update for December 2007. 15. I suspect this is just the kind of thing that Niners will appreciate. Vertigo recently released their free Slide.Show application for Silverlight 1.0. I have a sample and some pointers in today's blog post: http://blogs.msdn.com/mswanson/archive/2007/12/18/silverlight-slide-show.aspx. Not sure how embeddable (or not) it is in The Coffeehouse, but it certainly works well for blog entries and web sites. More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds
