Okay, this has been happening ever since I got my Toshiba Satellite a100 wa-3 (refurbished) back in the last week of June (2007): Every time I either login, resume from sleep/hibernate/(Standby?), being locked, or returning from a fullscreen game, something makes Windows briefly turn off Aero, and in some rare cases, stuck like that until I do something like lock and unlock the computer.* What could be causing this? (or just podcasts, or just photos, etc.) I see the search link, but it seems to only allow me to search the forums. What if I want to search for all the videos with "Mark Russinovich"? I know the text is associated with each video, but I don't see a way to execute the search. C9 is many things, but at the root of it is the great videos, how do I search them? -Walden More... As MP3 Players only accept audio, you need to convert the audio from your videos to MP3 and other popular audio formats. Here I’ll use* MelodyCan Ultra Video software to convert audio from video to MP3, M4A, WMA, AAC, WAV, OGG which supports all the iPod and other MP3/ MP4 players. 1 Download MelodyCan Ultra Video edition (http://www.convert-any-media.com/includes/download.php), install and run it. 2 Set desired MelodyCan settings. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/8215/setdesiredmelodycansettwa0.jpg 3 If you check “Automatically start conversion” in MelodyCan settings, conversion will start immediately after the program startup. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/8568/automaticallystartconvemf4.jpg 4 If you check “Advanced mode”, you’ll be able to listen to converted files in MelodyCan window. http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/1130/advancedmodecopyrw6.jpg 5 Don’t forget to choose the suitable output folder (your converted files will be saved there). http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/7792/outputfoldercopymy9.jpg 6 Select the files for conversion using “Select Files” button in MelodyCan main window toolbar.* You can alternately drag’n’drop entire folders with your music from Windows Explorer to MelodyCan window. http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/9830/selectfilescopyec4.jpg 7 After you finished with settings, click on “Convert” button to start the conversion. http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/1766/melodycante2.jpg 8 In the result your converted files will appear in output folder. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5044/outputfolder2copyso8.jpg 9 Now only one click left! “Copy to iPod” button will copy your converted music to iPod. So now you can copy the music to your iPod or share them to your friends. Note: If the audio (music, song) format not fits for your MP3 players, Run MelodyCan Professional http://www.convert-any-media.com/includes/download.php to convert audio formats as you want. The process is the same as convert video to audio. Add audio -> Choose the output audio format -> Convert MelodyCan is not compatible with Mac OS. It can only be run on Windows XP and Vista. Tobii Technology is an incredibly innovative company. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, they make eye tracking hardware and software that enables physically impaired people to interact with a computing device using only their eyes. There are no peripheral hardware requirements for communicating with the My Tobii P10 device: all that is needed are eyes. Of course, there are many applications for this type of eye-controlled user interaction (as discussed in the interview, this area is rife with possibility). Tobii devices are also used in scientific research. In fact, Microsoft is a Tobii customer. We use their devices in our user interaction research programs. Here, we meet the CEO of the company along with the My Tobii application lead software developer and development manager. Of course we get a demo and talk about some nuts and bolts. I'm really impressed with this small company. So innovative! Follow the eyes... Listen to the podcast(MP3) Listen to the podcast(WMA) Download the Video Watch the Video More... I was reading this post over at GeekZone and one interesting statement he made goes like this:Running Windows 3.11 was just phenomonal on this, insanely quick. In contrast, the Vista machine was just poke-slow in everything it did, took 3 minutes to start up, took 24 seconds to load Word, and usually taking about double the [...] More... Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

I have Vista installed since around six months now.. And*I haven't found the DRM! Seriously, what am I missing? I played some shody divx and xvid files - no problem. I played all my mp3 files, no problem, in fact, every media file*I tried works. With the exception of specificaly*protected wma files.. but I know those weren't not playable in XP either,*(I tried)*so this isn't new in Vista, and can't be the mythical Vista DRM. I tried to capture live audio streams with audacity - no problem. I tried to*convert*wav files to mp3 files.. no problem. OK, I haven't got a bluray and/or hd dvd drive, maybe there will be problems if I try to rip from such discs, I don't know..**But, so far, I just haven't seen the DRM at all! Where is the fuzz? What I am missing? After all the buzz I hear everywhere on the internet about "Vista DRM".. this is.. even disappointing to some extend. Like preparing for a hurricane, but all you get is an average rainshower. Serious question: Aside from HD DVD and bluray.. where is the DRM? More... View All Our Microsft Related Feeds

Whenever I register a domain Google gets it right away.* I think that's because GoDaddy sends the URLs to Google, but that doesn't explain why Live doesn't get with the program even when I submit my my URLs to Live.* I like Live.com for picture search, but when it doesn't index some websites at all that makes me hesitant to use it for websites.* Does Google have an unfair advantage over other search providers?* At any rate, I'm going to perform a little test: Earlier this month I registered my piece of the internet with GoDaddy!* Today I posted about how I think Tablet PCs are ready for the masses, but won't ever reach popularity unless brick and mortar stores embrace the technology.* Last week I made a video post about the Creative Zen Stone Plus. Since this is a failry popluar site, I'm wondering if Live Search will find these links and add them to its database.* It would make sense if it does, but it still doesn't make sense that it won't index URLs added through that before mentioned URL submission form. I'm trying to work through the WPF Unleashed book by Adam Nathan, as I'm going I'm working through with VB.NET rather than the C# samples in the book*just to see how it translates. I have reached chapter 11 and the section about Hit Testing with Multiple Visuals. The code in the book draws a ghost with mouth, eyes, and body all of which rotate seperately when clicked. The c# sample works fine from the authors site but when i translate it to VB.NET it doesn't work, after a bit of debugging the GetVisualChild overridden method only ever gets called with a value of 0 passed in while when running the c# sample it gets called with a value for each item (0,1,2) in the collection. The code below is, as far as I can see, the exact equivalent of the C# in the book but it only draws the ghost's body (or if I change the order of the items in the 'visuals' list it is always the first item) which makes sense if GetVisualChild only gets called with a val of 0. Public Class WPFHostDrawing2 Inherits Window Dim visuals As New List(Of Visual) Sub New() Title = "Hosting DrawingVisuals" Width = 300 Height = 350 Dim bodyVisual As New DrawingVisual() Dim eyesVisual As New DrawingVisual() Dim mouthVisual As New DrawingVisual() Using dc As DrawingContext = bodyVisual.RenderOpen() 'The body dc.DrawGeometry(Brushes.Blue, Nothing, Geometry.Parse("M 240,250 " & _ "C 200,375 200,250 175,200 " & _ "C 100,400 100,250 100,200" & _ "C 0,350 0,250 30,130" & _ "C 75,0 100,0 150,0" & _ "C 200,0 250,0 250,150 Z")) End Using Using dc As DrawingContext = eyesVisual.RenderOpen() 'left eye dc.DrawEllipse(Brushes.Black, New Pen(Brushes.White, 10), New Point(95, 95), 15, 15) 'right eye dc.DrawEllipse(Brushes.Black, New Pen(Brushes.White, 10), New Point(170, 105), 15, 15) End Using Using dc As DrawingContext = mouthVisual.RenderOpen() 'the mouth Dim p As New Pen(Brushes.Black, 10) p.StartLineCap = PenLineCap.Round p.EndLineCap = PenLineCap.Round dc.DrawLine(p, New Point(75, 160), New Point(175, 150)) End Using visuals.Add(bodyVisual) visuals.Add(eyesVisual) visuals.Add(mouthVisual) For Each v In visuals AddVisualChild(v) AddLogicalChild(v) Next End Sub ' The two necessary overrides, implemented for the single Visual: Protected Shadows ReadOnly Property VisualChildrenCount() As Integer Get Return visuals.Count End Get End Property Protected Overrides Function GetVisualChild(ByVal index As Integer) As Visual If index < 0 OrElse index >= visuals.Count Then Throw New ArgumentOutOfRangeException("index") End If Return visuals(index) End Function Private Sub WPFHostDrawing_MouseLeftButtonDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs) Handles Me.MouseLeftButtonDown MyBase.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e) 'Reteive the mouse pointer location relative to the Window Dim location As Point = e.GetPosition(Me) 'Perform visual hit testing for the entire Window Dim result As HitTestResult = VisualTreeHelper.HitTest(Me, location) 'If we hit any DrawingVisual, rotate it If result.VisualHit.GetType() Is GetType(DrawingVisual) Then Dim dv As DrawingVisual = result.VisualHit If dv.Transform Is Nothing Then dv.Transform = New RotateTransform() End If CType(dv.Transform, RotateTransform).Angle = CType(dv.Transform, RotateTransform).Angle + 1 End If End Sub End Class Can anyone see an error, or just tell me they get the same and it must be a bug, it is driving my slightly crazy.
