To "Thaw" this very inconvenient, trick, the PC must be shut down completely, left an hour or more, best if over night. When it re-boots after a time delay, the freeze is usually gone. Ever since the February updates my computer has had errors and won't load internet pages. It completety died at one stage continually turning on and off, and I had to start in safe mode. I can't open web pages in internet explorer or mozilla. This has only occurred since the updates and from other tech support sites seems to be a common problem. When and how will the issues be fixed. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still a mess. Urgently need access to websites as this is very costly. View this thread

hard drive crashed, had vista and upgraded to Windows 7 but did not have vista disk anymore, do I have to install another version of windows for new version to work?, 7 is running bad and it tells me my version is not authentic, but I bought it at staples. I have Windows Vista Ultimate v6.0, build 6002, Service Pack 2. 32 bit system. As of 2/18/2013, I can no longer download the system updates. Last successful update was 1/10/2013 for Update Windows Vista (KB2785220), Windows junk mail filter (KB2760586), Security update Windows Vista (KB2778930), Microsoft office Suite 20072687499), and also Windows Vista update (KB2785220; KB2763674). 2/18/2013, the most recent time I tried to update, the following failed: Office Ste 2007 (KB2596620;KB2596802;KB2767916; Sec update microsoft.net Vista; and Outlook 2007 junk mail filter KB27677848 Ideas about how to remedy this??? I have Windows 8 Pro installed (not an update, original box version) and Windows Update consistently fails and generates an error on KB2799494 and then the PC locks up and must be powered off to reboot. Windows Update error help did no good either. I downloaded the update and ran it manually as Admin and it just reported "failed" I ran the Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool and under Validation status, it reported "validation unsupported OS". I do have Media Center loaded (legally) as well. I'm using Panda antivirus. Very little else has been loaded. What is going on? View this thread

Hi everyone..I'm using Windows 8 Enterprise x64 edition, I found a problem when installing some or one system update from windows update, on my test I can apply all the Windows 8 security update, microsoft visual, virus definition, and all office update without problem. But I found some of the windows system update cause the modern apps can't be launch, i'm not sure which one of it. I have update many of it and I left some system update because i'm affraid of it.. It just open the main page of the apps then it close again. It happened on all modern apps, firefox, and other normal desktop apps can't be opened without problem. Also it cause windows help executable(If I not wrong with the name) to be stopped and need to be close.I have run sfc /scannow and Windows does not detect any integrity violation.Is anyone also experience this?Thank you.. I have made several attempts to download and install update KB2799494. I have searched the online communities and I am having a hard time getting this resolved (I even did a system restore and backed it up about a week and still no resolution). Also, since this update has been trying to download my computer will pop up with a blue screen in the middle of using it and then shut down and reboot. Edit: The computer is an Hp Pavilion with Windows 7 Home Premium loaded on it as the only OS. A problem occurred with his microsoft outlook 2010 as well which led me to look for updates and fixes that might help, but these updates do not work and I believe they will need to be fixed before I can work on the office problem. The updates are:KB976932 (Windows 7 Service Pack 1), KB2618451 (Cumulative Security Update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows 7), KB2636233 (Update Rollup for ActiveX Killbits for Windows 7) the updates often get up to around 24% complete before failing and erroring. resulting in errors 80073701 and 80073712. additionally, KB2434419 (Windows Live Essentials 2011) launches properly but fails to properly update once launched, stating error 0x80040609. I have attempted to use the Hotfix for Windows update KB947821, but it seemed to have no effect even after restarting the computer, and another microsoft fix it program that also did nothing, if I find the name of that I will add it to this post.These problems occured several weeks ago, I think around the 28th or 29th of january, and I do not know what caused them.I would appreciate any help possible. If your help consists of telling me to format my computer or buy a mac, please keep it to yourself. edit: additionally, an update for their Canon printer keeps adding itself to the available list.
