Someone installed avast security software on my laptop and now that the free trial is up its running horribly hanging all the time. Trying to install MSE but the microsoft site seems to be having a problem. I uninstalled avast. Does anyone else have experience with this software? View this thread

I get the error code 80073718 whenever i install these 5 updates on my 64 bit Windows 8 desktop: KB2778344 KB2790655 KB2799494 KB2793210 KB2795944 This error appears even when i attempt to install each of these updates individually. I've tried running the Windows Update troubleshooter from the Control Panel, as well as disabling my antivirus (Norton Internet Security 2013) but the updates still refuse to install. Is there any way to resolve this issue? I have only recently "Refreshed" Windows 8 using the control panel option, so i hope there's a solution to this issue that does not require a reinstall of Windows. Thanks. View this thread

gday, ive recently downloaded n attempted to install minecraft from minecraft.net n ive gotten as far as the installer n it come up with the following message "The update is not applicable to your computer". ive googled this problem n have only found solutions of how to fix this to do with f1 help. my os is windows 8 64 bit with an i5 processor. ive been playing minecraft from a web based browser but it keeps coming up with "minecraft has run out of memory. please restart ur game" so ive just temporarily given up. im hoping I hear from someone soon to get this issue fixed. cheers and thank you View this thread

Ok, I am running windows xp media center version. I was trying to do automatic updates. When I downloaded it it retuned an error code of 0x80070424. I ran the fix it and it sad that windows updat components must be repaired. I wasn't able to send the results because when I typed the letters in the security it said it wasn't right. When I ran the regular total fix it that I downloaded it says "can't download trouble shooters. Please check the internet connection and retry. I did and I am connected! I m totally crazy with this. Since i installed windows 8 i cant do any update on my windows. Yesterday (02/18) i open a chat support with a microsoft techinician, he spens about 2 hours and no fixed. Today he call me for try different solutions, he was doing something, my computer shutdown and then i had something on my hard drive. I removed all my HD and buy a new SSD 335 Series Intel 240GB. I installed a fresh windows 8 on the ssd. Then tried to update my windows, and i got the same error. My computer download all the updates, restarts, the said update your system, restarts again and then comes Failure Configuring Windows updates . Reverting Changes. I have no idea how i can manage this. i Have Win 8 PRO 64bits BUILD 9200 MB M5A99X EVO (bios is updated) 32MEM and the 240GB SSD installed. Any one can give me any help? thanks. View this thread

Everytime i try to download it with IE it opens the pop up, giving me the option to open, save or save as. when i do any of these, it pops up the download thing, and says it is unable to download, even after multiple retrys. When I try with Chrome, it opens a second page, and then says there is nothing at that address. I don't have another security system, and have done all of the things the problems and solutions page.
