My documents, pictures and favorites have disappeared since the last Windows update that took place around 2/13/2013. Also Firefox won't open saying that it already has a window open but it doesn't. I uninstalled Firfox and reinstalled it and it still won't open saying the same thing. I have removed several Trojans since then also. Yesterday I had some person call me on my cell phone that I could barely understand telling me they were from Microsoft and they noticed that I have had some errors and trojans and wanted control of my computer. I found out they were from Teamveiewer wanting to sell me antivirus progams. What is going on? Am I going to have to take my computer to the shaop to have it staightened out. I run Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. Please help! View this thread

Ahem -Pop-up claiming to be from MicroSoft Security Essentials in Red in center of blank IE page when searching for "Out of the Box" website by Mark Grant. This official looking box was very convincing and asked if I wanted to clean my computer of three viruses - it was an emergency!!! I ran a quick scan of MSFT Sec. Essen. and it came up clean. I believe this was an effort to make me download the viruses. If it was MSFT Sec. Essen. it was the first I've seen of it. I confess I immediately deleted the site, address and cleaned out the computer using CCleaner, per Davvie, MSFT Answers.Also - Incredimail is destroying Outlook... but that is another story... I got updates KB2779030 installed Jan 5,2013 via Windows update and all others installed okay I AV is current I ran Scannow,windowupdate FixIt AND other checks on my Lenovo laptop. I have ordered SP1 as it has never been offered to me via Windows UPDATE to installed manually before support ends April 9,2013. Are there any Lenovo users who succeffly solved this Install problem? On my google accounts they have changed all my apsswords to live and hotmail avvounts. They have all been hacked and as soon as I down load login live it gets redirected. Google keps informing me that they lock my accounts as my stalker keeps changing my paswords and 2 step verification phone # to a live account and then they install the malware. If I can retrive my live and hotmail accounts from box can i install Microsft security essentials. They have alresdy messed with open source Apache code wite to allow apple, I tunes and outlook, live and hotmail. Can you please help me. I tried malwarebytes for a trial period but really didn't want to pay for it afterwards. Maybe I should just accept the fact that I should pay the 24.95. Its less than a virus program, though I really like Microsoft which is free. I wish they would start a free Malware program. Any other free Anti Malware programs that are recommended. After I run the windows update troubleshooter, it says the components must be repaired and the issue is fixed. I find this unreadable and conflicting, especially because the same message seems to be there even after troubleshooting again. So, I don't believe it's fixed. What can I do to fix the issue? Running Windows 8 pro and updated the latest updates all went fine until i updated the Internet Explorer 10 KB2792100 installed it and restarted and all i get is a black screen with a cursor flashing.I am using a older Toshiba laptop but Windows 8 runs fine on it so I have no clue on this one.I also tried to start in safe mod but same thing black screentried clean boot also View this thread

After updating with Windows updae on 02/15/2013 I noticed IE is not behaving normally and the issue is intermittent. I am not only getting the intermittent "not responding, must close messages", but also the "Back" button arrow is also behaving intermittently. Sometimes I can navigate from my home page to another page, then click on the Back Arrow and it works. At other times when I click on the Back Arrow IE just sets there and doesn't respond even after several attempts, yet IE isn't frozen. I can click on my home page button and it then responds. It just seems to affect just the Back Arrow function and doesn't give any errors. I have this same exact behavior occurring on two different machines a PC tower, and a Laptop both with windows 7 installed. This behavior did not exist prior to those last updates from Microsoft, so I am convinced that there is a software bug in the last Microsoft updates that is causing this behavior! Accept for this community forum, Microsoft also seems to have all their web sites set up to make it impossible for a user to report these issues directly to Microsoft. View this thread

For months now, I am unable to install any microsoft updates. First I go to windows update and download the updates needed (currently there are 20) It downloads successfully and then tells me to restart. Upon restarting, it tells me windows update failed, reverting changes. When I do back to windows update and look at the history it shows all the updated have failed. When I copy the update names (KB2769369, KB2724197, KB2691442, KB2655992, etc.) and go to the microsoft website to try to download them manually, it tells me they are not applicable to my computer. I ran the update troubleshooter and it did not find any problems. Any ideas on what to do next??? Thanks. View this thread

Hi, Every time i open up WU it says its never been ran before? which it has, all updates have come from WU. Everything was running fine till about a week ago....have made no changes to OS to affect WU. Why do you think it keeps doing this? keeps giving me all the language options which i have hid 10 times now! Like i said evey time i open it up it says WU has never ran before....its not offering the same updates i already have or anything, just the language updates and as you know there are like 50 of em, tired of hiding them just to run WU and have them there all over again. any help would be greatly appreciated TY View this thread

I am having some trouble with my windows 8 computer. Something happened to it and a screen came up and said that it needed to restart because something had gone wrong. So it starts to restart and then goes to a dark screen. it sat there like that or over an hour, and now I am trying to fix it, but I don't know what to do. I have unplugged the tower thing twice. I am encountering errors when attempting to install 2 hotfixes: KB2553474 KB2589388 When installing both hotfixes, I get the same error after downloading the self-extractor, during the unzipping process. I get the following message after I provide an unzip location: "This self-extracting zip file is part of a multidisk zip file. Please insert the last disk of the set."
