Recently we ran/passed and submitted an HCK (WHQL) for one of our hardware products. The driver version for this release is 1.0.2.0. The hardware submission ID on sysdev.microsoft.com is 1558947. We passed the submission, and via sysdev, set the distribution/announcement date to be 01/29/2013 (yesterday). Everything went well, except now on http://catalog.update.microsoft.com when we search for the product associated with the above submission ID (ATTO ThunderLink SH 1068), it is listing the 'Last Updated' as being 07/31/2012 and the driver version is 2.0.2.0. Why is this different from what we entered for the actual submission? All submission information on sysdev shows the correct driver version of 1.0.2.0. View this thread

So my computer has the problem where it pages out because of service pack one (sp1) on windows 7. normally i would be able to delete it but i got a SSD and had to use a disc to re-install windows and the disc comes with sp1 on it. I have not way of deleting it and i need to. HELP! also the hotfix did not stop the random freezing at all. View this thread

I am trying to use Microsoft Updates but on my Windows 7 Professional but when I go into Updates it says service is not running and has the error codes 80010108, 80070422 which is just two of the error codes. I have tried the Fix It with Microsoft, it doesnt work. Can anyone help? View this thread

I am attempting to repair my neighbors laptop that was not able to get on the internet. What I found was that the OS had a 50 GB partition and everything was installed on the c: drive and it was totally out of space. I used Disk Manager to delete the d: partition and extend c: to include the entire drive. I cleaned everything up, uninstalled various toolbars and malware found in Add/Remove Software (Control Panel). Now, when I try to do any Windows updates or update any applications, the installation will fail claiming there is no disk space available. In the eventlog, I see MsiInstaller errors with an event id of 11711, "An error occurred while writing installation information to disk. Check to make sure enough disk space is available, and click Retry, or Cancel to end the install."I also get this error when trying to install updates to iTunes also. I was able to install MalwareBytes with no problems and install a new version of Firefox. I have run defrag, chkdsk, malware scans, anti-virus scans, windows update fix it utility and anything else I could think of. I also tried to create a new user thinking that maybe the user profile I was using may have been corrupt. This user profile had the same issue.I have searched the web for any information on this event id and found little to no information other than free up disk space.Any ideas? View this thread

As I said...I logged on to my computer and it says I am potentially unprotected. However, when I try to run the update it acts like it is searching and installing but then it it says I am still potentially unprotected and shows that virus and spyware definitions are out of date. IT says definitions were created 1/30/2013 at 2:57 AM. and Definitions last updated 3/2/2013 at 9:23 AM which is in the future??? Every time I turn on my laptop it tells me I have 'Updates' to download, I download and install them then restart and again I'm informed I have more to install and the process literally just goes on and on and on 24/7. When I view my 'Update history' I have hundreds shown for the last month alone and there are a lot which seem to be 'repeats' like: Update for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Extended (KB2468871) and Update for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 Client Profile (KB2600217) to name but two. When I viewed 'Uninstall an update' it shows only a few updates to uninstall and the date range. It is showing 17 updates for today (30/01/13) and then the next one is dated 24/01/13 and then another group of 20 for the 15/01/13. Since I have been constantly updating each and every day for the last couple of weeks it clearly shows I have a problem with the updating procedure and therefore I would welcome any suggestions to rectify this. I recently had to remove 'Norton 360' from my laptop as I started to get 'Blue Screen' messages every time it started to process it's updates and 'Safe Mode' indicated a conflict with the software so I have been using 'Microsoft Security Essentials' as an anti-virus agent etc, which shows my laptop as fully protected but I am unable to turn on Windows Defender since installing MSE? I keep getting the error 8024402C when trying to check for windows updates. I've noticed that it hasn't updated since July last year. In August last year, the system I'm working on changed to peer to peer. I've tried restarting and changing the service to automatic which has not helped. I have also tried troubleshooting which window said it rectified two issues but it did not help me with any issues. It isn't locked by an Administrator, so I am not asked for any passwords. I noticed that Windows Update does not recognize windows updates. It only detects the optional update which is the Bing Bar. I checked the latest updates for Windows 8 in the Download Center then compared it to the ones I have installed in the Installed Updates. I noticed that there are some updates which are not installed. I did the troubleshoot things and said it fixed some errors then tried to find updates again. But still it didn't detect the missing updates. I think it is a hassle installing all of the missing updates manually and I have a hunch there is something wrong with the Windows Update. I tried the sfc /scannow and it did nothing. Also I ran the troubleshooter two times and it said the same thing always Potential Windows Update Database error detected 0x80070490 Fixed Windows Update components must be repaired Fixed But the error still persist.
