I FOUND A SIMPLE FIX THAT WORKED FOR ME THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE . I HAVE WINDOWS 7 ,64 BIT. WENT TO MICROSOFT MALEWARE SCANNER. DOWN LOADED THE "MICROSOFT SAFETY SCANNER 1.0.3001.0". I RAN A FULL SYSTEM SCAN WHICH TOOK A FEW HOURS TO COMPLETE. IT FOUND A "JAVA" RELATED VIRUS THAT WAS CAUSING THE ERROW 5013.3 NORTON 360 VIRUS. WHEN THE SCAN WAS COMPLET IT SHOWED THE VIRUS AND REMOVED IT--NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS POPING UP--TRY THIS A LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS FOR YOU. View this thread

I have a laptop computer HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx Entertainment Notebook PC that originnaly came with the OS Windows Vista, but I updated this OS with Windows 7 Professional and when I did this, the wireless card didn't work anymore. Actually the laptop is not able to connect to any wireless network because the wireless card is always OFF, and when I try to turned on, it is not possible. I have performed all the suggestions and help but at last, the suggestion was to post my problem here in order to find some solution. I hope somebody can help me. Can you help me to find a solution for this problem? I will appreciate any feedback or help you can give to me. Thanks a lot!! View this thread

Windows Update errors 0x80070490 and 8e5e03fb
AWS posted a topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Config : Win7 Ultimate 64-bit, 12GB of Mushkin RedLine RAM, Nvidia GTX580, Gigabyte Sniper MB, Intel Core i7-970, latest drivers installed. I've been researching these forums and the Internet in general, I found multiple so-called solutions to the aforesaid errors, done lots of things to my system, obviously to no avail. Even though I have no faith at all in these forums (based on my previous experience while running Vista), I'll make one last masochistic attempt because I've reached my Linux/Solaris engineer limits... I know I have a corrupted file that's probably at the root of this puzzle: C:Usersnobody>sfc /scannow Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Hello, this is my first time posting, so I apologize if this is in the wrong place or if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I have a business client that runs mostly Windows 7 Pro x64 machines, and we have a WSUS server set up to manage their updates. The client computers are set through Group Policy to automatically download updates but notify for install. However, one of the principals at this company is claiming that no one is (or at least multiple people are not) receiving the balloon notification that tells you there are new updates available. Everything looks in order in group policy, no GPOs should be disabling the notifications, and when I go log on to certain computers to have a look at them, the notification does come up. So it looks like it's working, but I'm not sure what to tell my client or how I should proceed, save for going to every computer, rebooting it and seeing if it shows the notification when I log on, since that seems to be the most reliable way to get it to appear. So, before I go and do something like that, what I want to know is, on what sort of schedule does Windows 7 pop up the new update notification? What I'm wondering is if maybe it only notifies you upon logon or something, which might explain why some people would not see it: if they aren't logging off/shutting down/locking their PC at the end of the day, which I know some don't. However I'm not certain of this, and if Windows should be notifying you periodically no matter what, then it would seem I have some kind of problem that needs to be resolved. View this thread

Hello, In the past 4 days, two updates have been repeatedly recurring in Windows Update on my laptop. The two updates that keep recurring are: - KB2656351: Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28570 - KB2600071: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Reliability Update 2 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28936 I’ve checked back in my Windows Update history and over the past 4 days (4/12/2013 up until now, 4/16/2013) it says both of these updates were installed “successfully” 15 times each. I’ve googled this issue and got hits at this Community: - Two updates KB2656351 and KB2600217 are repeatedly re-offering to - Microsoft Communityhttp://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/two-updates-kb2656351-and-kb2600217-are-repeatedly/f155de82-3976-4c15-a878-58dff4c2b9b7 - Windows updates KB2656251 & KB2600217 keep installing but then - Microsoft Communityhttp://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/windows-updates-kb2656251-kb2600217-keep/48fc8fcc-8a1e-4c39-9f8a-ecbd7e37be6f These are the suggested solutions I‘ve tried which have all proven to be not working: - Downloading the updates through the above mentioned links and installing them manually. - Microsoft Fixit. I tried several links, which all provided different executables. Whenever - I get notice that new updates are available or - I start Windows Update on my own it always takes so endlessly long, although I have a normal internet connection. Therefore, when I try using a new USB Stick that has to download the appropriate driver it takes long and finally end in the USB Stick not being recognised by my PC. Sometimes the updates for Windows only appear on shutting down the PC. All other download (files, videoas etc.) work perfectily. Who knows an answer to this dilemma? Jean-Claude View this thread

Windows updates fail with Error Code: 0x80246008. Windows troubleshooter fails to start! Following things back as far as I'm able it seems that I lack .net framework 2 but that won't install either. I'm only an enthusiastic amateur here and I've no idea what has caused whatever has gone wrong. The PC is running XP sp3 and while's it's old it's fine apart from the lack of updates. Any help, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks, View this thread

I have been getting calls from "unknown caller - unknown number" re PARASITES, TROJAN HORSES, VIRUSES and MALWARE on my computer being reported to a Microsoft Technical site. Their solution is to have me allow them to logon and fix my severlly damaged computer. They say Microsoft virsus scans, AVG virus scans and CCleaner scans, which show no problems, are unable to detect the problems they see and can fix. How legit are they? View this thread
