The software maybe held on the USB dongle or it maybe downloadable from the makers website. What is the make and model? JB.
-
I sometimes wonder why I even get out of bed or stay up late giving help. Sigh...

George you may struggle still to get a decent signal... It may work. Have you tried reinstalling the dongles software and try to reconnect? JB?

The headset was working on Windows10 and now they do not.You need to leave the head set plugged in,open device manager and locate sound devices, open the list + right click on your sound hardware and choose upadate driver.Let me know if that works... Open Device Manager

HMRC Scam Email Alert..
Jelly Bean replied to Jelly Bean's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Ahh right thanks.. My brain doesnt function as it should so I found it very hard to explain what I was trying to get across. I am disgusted that thse people get away with it.I did wonder how they got his details,if his computer is infected maybe some roughe programm is gathering his personal date. But I tried to help but again if people ask for help but then dont do what you ask of them, walk away.. -
Thank You Starbuck. I gave him a fix last night, adware being one. But apparently she is more concerned about keeping her tabs than a good clean up and uninstall.Looks like it was installed with a bundle and shes getting multiple blank tabs and pages. There maybe no helping them if they dont want to help themselves.. But he hasnt got back to me at all today so I dont know what they intend to do.
-
Ahhh ok.. That doesnt stop anyone from posting on it though...

I have noticed the FB page has not had any new posts since 2014.. Just a small suggestion,if its updated if only once a week it may bring users to the forum. JB.

Hi,so I have a friend the same friend with HMRC issues and scammers,he isnt computer forum friendly or I wouldsend him here. Anyway he partner has Torch Browser issues andIve been on their FaceBook page and lots of people are having issues and no fixes being given. I say uninstall the rubbish, install Chrome or FireFox and give her laptop a good clean up via instructions. But its going to take me forever as neither are computer savvy.. Any advice, just clean up the computer and leave Torch installed or get rid of it and any known issues you know of? Thanks guys.

HMRC Scam Email Alert..
Jelly Bean replied to Jelly Bean's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Who did Starbuck..? My friend has had to pay this company £590-90.. What he thought was clicking HMRC website sign in was actually this company,oh gosh how to explain it,it looked like HMRC sign in but it was different,it was actually this company,s little rouge page so you sign up or sign in via there webpage and get stung. When I gave my friend the correct sign in it was different. He got back to me after he rang HMRC and they said he had to pay this company or they would send the bailiffs, but they explained to him what I was trying to explain.People are getting stung and their Facebook page, yeah right, not one negative comment. People should NEVER click a link like this via an email,I always advise to go directly to the page they require via a webpage. But ho wdid this company know how much he was owed via HMRC,simple he clicked the link in the email and they gathered all his information. The man got stung and all this company did was send an email with a dodgy link to a philshering webpage.£590-90 of stung... -
help moving old stuff to spare pc Please Help.

Hello. Firstly can I ask what the make and model of the Compaq is please as this will give us an idea of what you can possibly add as in upgrades or download and run http://www.belarc.com/ This will give you the make and model, mainboard make and model,RAM/Memory etc. What operating system is it running? As the computer is not origonal parts. Now I still have an old Compaq machine and it has always been noisey and its still running good. But they can only be upgraded to a certain degree. They only take up to a certain speed and type memory,a certain size and type of hard drive, you get the idea.So if you can post the information we can help you further. The old hard drive needed to be cleaned up and free up space,if its still working and you buy the right type of external case, you can pop it into a case and use it as USB external storage, this gives you extra storage.. So if you can post the information we need we can certainly help you further. JB. -
Oh gosh Ive been trying to explain this scam email from HMRC to a freind for the past few hours. He isnt getting it then when I think he is he lost the train of thought. I think he has got it now. Anyway we dont need help,Ive hopefully set him on the right path. So he had this email that states its from HMRC,just to point out HMRC would NEVER send you an email asking you to click a link and fill in your bank details. The email is NOT from HMRC. Email recived: Please find a copy of your invoice that was previously sent to you. Please make payment immediately via the below link in order to avoid any further late payment penalties. http://www.taxreturned.co.uk/payment?payref=TRO406292287&paytotal=1803.00&paydj=2016 As per our Terms & Conditions (which have been electronically signed by you when submitting your claim on our website), your invoice in now overdue. We would like to remind you that you are contractually bound to our legal agreement, and we reserve the right to charge interest on overdue fees – which accrues at a daily rate. Failure to pay our invoice may result in legal action being taken – which may negatively impact on any future credit ratings. We look forward to hearing from you shortly. Kind regards, Yes it may appear to you its from HMRC ut its not,if you look at the attached link it is actually a philshering company and the link first direct you to this site: I clicked the link on my friends email and it took me to the above site and then redirected me to a PayPal account and told me I also owed £590-90 the same as it told my friend. I do NOT owe the tax man any money I can assure you,I get a tax slip every year and I owe NOTHING. But my friend had the same you owe us £590-90,it maybe genuine PayPal but the account is a group of scammers stealing your money. Simply a phishering site. I also advised my friend his computer maybe infected last week and he needed to seek help,he has not popped over here for help. Please people,do not click these type links. The Tax office/HMRC willNEVER email you and ask for your details. Its a SCAM.. Your bank will NEVER email you and ask for you to click this link or download this attachment and fill in all your bank details. Its a SCAM.. Its the same with your Amazon Account has been compramised,no it has not,do not click the link,Its a SCAM.. iTunes your account will be shut down click this link or we will shut your account down,do NOT c lick the link, its NOT from iTunes,Its a SCAM.. Your PayPal has had some suspisous behaviour,no it has not its a SCAM.. If you get one of these emails from HMRC please do NOT click any links but forward them to phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk HMRC do NOT send you text messages with links attached. I think my friend has eventually got the idea,he has forwarded the email, blocked the sender and will be ringing HMRC tomorrow to see if they can help sort out this mess. Now if I could of looked at the copy of the HRMC letter he had through the post I could of checked if that was genuine to.. If anyone wants to correct my spelling edit if needs be,etc please feel free to do so.Thanks.
