  1. My little old HP will take any none branded inks,it is brilliant.Yes I am afraid to say Epson forces us to buy there brand. There is a shop in Morriston Swansea and they sell copies my friend swears they are great.I tried them my printer stopped working. Go on the Epson website they recommended Cheetah for my inks.My inks cost £37-99 for all four.Still cheaper than Tesco. I hope it goes well for you.then I also had to do a nosel check once I fitted the new inks. Your very welcome. JB.
  2. I was without my Epson Stylus DX 8400 for some time thinking it had died.Infact after 2 years I plugged it in and it kept giving me ink error, never gave me that error before. It came to pass those none Epson refills were the issue. I replaced the cartridges about 2 weeks ago and my printer/scanner is back up and running. Your issue is those copy cartridges.
  3. I tend to agree with Nev,wirless is very slow and prone to drop out.I to suggest a wired connection and try again. Then get back to us on this.
  4. Thankyou Armaggedon. Some times a little clarity kicks in.
  5. Did you restart the PC? Ok lets see if these will help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 You could try a repair install. Is it possible you could have a virus?
  6. Ahh right, silly me I didnt know.Just had a quick look at the list.
  7. Hello and welcome. Let's check to make sure the service is set to run automatically. Click the Start orb In the Start Search box, type services and press enter. Scroll down to Task Scheduler, right click it and chooseproperties. Make sure the start up type is set to Automatic.
  8. Microsft has caught up.LOL Has anyone tried Avast 7.0 beta? Compatibility Centre
  9. Make sure you keep it very safe.
  10. Wait. BT will charge you £99-99 for a call out to check and possibly replace the internal box.Thats is what they told me they would charge me just for a front cover. First thing to do is take the lower front cover off and use the test socket.Just undo the 2 screws you should see the socket under that.If you can get a good connection then all you need to do is use the test socket until YOU buy a front cover.
  11. Hello Bazza. I found this for you: http://help.virginmedia.com/system/selfservice.controller?CONFIGURATION=1002&PARTITION_ID=1&TIMEZONE_OFFSET=&USERTYPE=1&VM_CUSTOMER_TYPE=National&CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=2194 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319116
  12. Ive done a little search and found Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. Download and install this then run it.This will give you the information you need. The compatability details will say Fire Fox and other browsers are not compatible with Windows 8 but they always print this warning for you to stick to using Internet Explorer. JB.
  13. Hello and welcome. JB.
  14. Thats ok feccle, just sometimes it can confuse the issues and help given. Try what I posted and we can go from there. I agree with KenB,plug in via an either net cable and see if you can get a connection.I recommended to a friend a few days ago when he had problems with Orange.

  16. Hello and welcome. Did you get the trial edition? If you did it is limited. This may stop you from recording your xbox games. Here is a video on how to do this: You need MORE than just software to record your XBOX games. JB.
  17. Olive who supplies your internet?
  18. I had to keep reading that to see if it made any sense... It does save money as many ISP if you buy a cheaper package you have a data usage allowance.Once this runs out they start to slam you with a nice bigger bill.. Depending on what company you are with may also play a part in how you connect. My mobile is with vodafone yet I can still get BT wifi but had to download the BT wifi app. Most modern phones can connect to another wifi company. KenB its not has difficult as it sounds.
  19. KenB.BT has hotspots all over the UK. This means you can sit in a cafe and logon to BT wifi hotspots. It does come under fare usage and get 10,000 free minutes.BUT they do run out quickly. My Facebook had issues connecting to the internet a few days ago.I tried to logon on to BT wifi hotspots.BUT I couldnt, first I had to logon to my BT wireless router then I got a connection so I could set up BT WIFI/BT Fon. You need to scan for wireless/wifi networks in your area.Your BT router also acts as a Wifi hotspot. You can either logon to the router and use that to connect your laptop or phone or you can use it as a Wifi hotspot there is a diffrence.Once you have scanned for a wifi hotspot either by laptop or phone logon onto it.However you need a little app from your broad band provider to logon to Wifi hot spots.
  20. Hello and welcome. Firstly check the both cables on the SATA hard drive are fully seated into there ports. Double check all connections as one may not be plugged in correctly or came loose. Sometimes computers do NOT like change of hardware. Have you tried getting into BIOS and see if the HDD is listed in there? On the post screen is your RAM and HDD listed? Do you get any beeps other than the post beep? Memory can be the cause of a balck screen, try resitting it. Have you simply tried restarting the computer and repeatedly tap F8 key and choose last known good config?
  21. Hello and welcome. Firstly I would NEVER haveTalk Talk. My first choice would be VirginMedia. They have also just doubled there speeds.I have had them and there speeds were steady and reliable.Good price to. Next to that if you cannot get Virginmedia were you are I would choose Sky,not as fast as Virginmedia but its is the next best thing. BT is over priced and terrible speeds, disconnections have been happening for me for about 8 weeks now and they refuse to admit there is an issue. JB.
  22. I think that is a pritty unfare game and the GIRL as in me is going to loose hands down on this one.... I will start and so I shall finish. 501,502,503,504,505.506,507,508,509,510,add a few more numbers. 990,991,992,993,994,995,996,997,998,999,1,000. I WIN..........
  23. I wouldnt use glue,my choice is solder it back on or buy a new one...
  24. Hello and welcome. My first choice is to use HP Update assistant: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=130&prodSeriesId=1817067&prodTypeId=321957&objectID=bph07165 This will scan your computer and check for hardware drivers and downloads...
  25. Hello and welcome GCBR. Firstly could you post the make and model of the computer and hardware specifications as this will help us decide what can be done. You may only be able to upgrade the CPU to a slightly higher grade one and I am afraid to say 2 gig RAM will be the mainboards limit. As it is an older machine is it worth upgrading the mainboard,GPU,PSU and so on? I would simply add the 2 gig RAM and maybe a larger hard drive and reinstall the Windows Operating System. An older PC I would simply buy 2 gig of Kingston Value RAM.If the computer has 4 slots then it will take 512 mb sticks for each slot.As the graphics card has RAM dedicated to it via RAM sticks to function. Give the internals a good clean out. We are talking about an older machine and personaly I would just add the RAM... JB.
