  1. Hello there. Just a thought if I am wrong say so but I checked my music CD,s and they are already MP3 format.Well my more moden ones are. Most MP3 players come with there own software that you install onto your computer or laptop that will convert music and video for you.Such as iTunes,Creative Zen etc. Whem you say a recent complilation you may and when you downloaded it what do you mean by this? If your downloading music from what source as if it is from such things as shareware sites it simply could be that the MP3 did not download due to corruption or there simply was just one song. If you explain the issue a little more maybe there is a simple fix but VLC is a very popular software... JB.
  2. Airborne I cannot get VirginMedia in my village I would if I could. That is just BT internet per month.Line rental is more and rare is it that I use the landline. Ive don research on the best internet in my area.BT told I would get up to 3 meg I get just over 5 meg. However after looking at Sky and other providers BT is the best speed I can expect so I am sticking with them. Yes SHOCKED BT is the best deal and speed.
  3. OMG OMF I been hacked.Who wrote all that BS? Ive been pranked. I do NOT drink.
  4. DSTM I am with you I would rather a good roast dinner with cake and custard BUT instead of what may I ask you? Answer is his laces. Another answer is short in height, not a lot of legroom his legs are short he can fit in his new sporty number with ease.... Third answer, cuddling on the sofa for 3 seconds is not enough time spent together and called a relationship then off to football with the boys. I am unsure what anyone was thinking when I wrote my post... Hhahahahaha
  5. You know they say the size of a mans shoes reflects how big his item is? Untrue. You know men who buy flash cars? They say them buy them as it is a reflection of how small there item is. You know when your all bragging about your boradband speed I wonder what the hidden meaning about it is? How small is your item. I now feel like I have dug myself a very deep hole. How ever I recon the answer is the higher the the BB speed the slower you are with your actions in the cuddle room. 3 seconds is not enough guys. Have I just wrote a a post that reflects my mentality? YES... Only a man with doubts would delete this hahahahahahahahahaha
  6. I have a BlackBerry PlayBook so does my child we also have BlackBerry phones. When Vodafone goes down as it usually does. All four items can still be online via BT hotspots or via our home hub.It makes no difference what network your mobile phone is on or your iPad etc I can still be online were ever I am .
  7. BT is down to £13-00 per month for unlimited. If I had a better phone line I would get faster speeds.Talk Talk have a bad rep so no thanks. Does Talk Talk have unlimited connection all over the UK for WiFi hotrpots? With no data caps?
  8. Ive done a bit of checking on speeds. If I switch to Plusnet I could get upto 7mb. If I switch to Sky I will get the same speed as I have now with BT and that is just over 5mb. EE could only give me 2.9mb,they are the worst. However these are all "upto" speeds except BT. Plus net would give me "upto" 7mb.I have an old BT line and there for Plusnet would give me less speed than I am now getting with BT.Sky is the same. They will give me "upto" speeds but infact I could end up with less than 2mb speed if I switch over to them. We cannot get Virginmedia here so are limited. The best offer for speeds in my area is clearly BT.Plus BT have become unlimited.I can use WiFi hotspots with no limits.I have unlimited data usage and will not be charged for going over my allowance. Just because you go to a compare website and they give you options to switch to a cheapr tarriff when you look further into this as they are "UPTO" speeds you will NOT get the speeds quoted. You could end up with a quater of the quoted speed or less. I am sticking with BT thats for sure. Just remember speeds are ALL "UPT0" and you will NOT get the speeds you are being quoted.
  9. BT have dropped the price of unlimited BB from about £26-00 to £13-00 and some odd pence. This means unlimited wifi connection to hotspots and no more data usage fees.Speeds are still rubbish but its at least cheaper.
  10. Thankyou StarBuck. The kids rubber worked a little on the floor and table. Will try toothpaste later.
  11. I can only name myself. There is only one of me and I cannt even compare myself to anyone else. I am totaly crazy and the BEST aunty in the world.
  12. Yes it is especially if its the floor.I have teeth whitening toothpaste that may do the trick.
  13. There will not be any licked only eaten by me.I maybe safer to sand down the area and revarnish. The 5 yearold has permanent marker on a proper wood floor. Oh they joys. Waiting for my cake and custard to cool.
  14. Thankyou Randy I am not great with graphics either. Ken you greedy git now the thorntons chocolates the kids brought me today ,you will not be having one BUT you can have the one the kids licked and didnt like. Just kidding, shame thats just a photo of a cake however chocolate cake and custard for me and 3 children in a little while., Nev I will say thankyou very much that was very sweet of you and my niece Jazmine thinks your brilliant she is 5. I ended up with two extra children for the night. Our Logan who we usually have and his little sister Jazmine.By time Ive cooked, took them to the park and back again.I am ready for my bed. Both children are fighting for my childs attention. My wood coffee table has just ruined by my 7 yearold nephew with black permanent marker.Yes it is not even a yearold. Tuna, pasta and mayo does not agree with one of the children I want to be sick. But neither of the three will admit they did it.So now they are placing blame on me. Oh the joys of being the fav aunty. Thanks again guys. The day has gone fine so far and I cannot wait for the kids to go to bed for me to eat my chocolates WITHOUT sharing.
  15. Hello and welcome. Firstly check for any issues in your area: Service Check If there says no problems the next thing to do to save time is ring Virgin and have them to test your cable and router. Then get back to us. JB. [h=1][/h]
  16. Hello and welcome. I think you got ripped off there. What happens with updates you will be sent them and every so often Microsoft will send out an update to test for genuine and counterfiet software so it can take a few months.Usally these con artists take the same OS install disk and put it on multiple machines but turn off windows update so the machine runs fine for some time. Then the buyer of said machine turns on the windows update. Hence your computer has shut down. What does it say on your COA sticker? Windows XP? Windows 7 or another? If you have a legal COA key for windows 7 then your in with a chance. If the sticker has been removed then I am afraid to say it is purchase Windows 7 and delete the partition, create a new one and reinstall with a legal copy. Check under your battery for the COA key. JB.
  17. I beleive the Graphics card is a Intel GMA 3000 256 MB.. Reading the hardware specs of this computer DVI is optional, not all models of this number have the DVI. It then states dispaly is 15 pin VGA.... You can buy a VGA to HDMI convertor to run your TV via the computer. They are around £30-00 You can buy from eBuyer,Misco.uk,Dell and even from Tesco Direct. I hope this helps? JB.
  18. I would not worry about the support stopping.Like Windows 98,the support is not being renewed or updated but there is still help files and hardware/software downloads available from Microsoft. There will be plenty XP help files, software and hardware downloads available just no new ones will be made for download. JB.
  19. You are very welcome. Compare prices before buying.Play.com is FREE delivery on everything. Let us know if you find one. JB.
  20. I use a multi charger. It cost me about £40-00 when I bought it.Maker Targus.I have about 10 adaptors with my one and there is an adaptor that fits your HP.You can also buy the different type and size adaptors as extras. It would do your HP and it also doubles up as a mobile phone charger,iPhone etc. PCWorld sells the Touchsmart chargers. The laptop power supply shop sells them for around £29-99. In the UK to. My fav is also selling them, Play.com with FREE delivery on everything. The prices are very good to.
  21. Hello and welcome. Firstly check both cards are fully seated in there slots and any cable connections are fully pushed in. Secondly lets check if its an over heating problem. Download and run SpeedFan and post temps at idle and underload please. Could you please post your computer hardware specs for us as this will help us determin what the issue maybe. Here is a simple and quick tool to use: Belarc.Download, install and run, this will give you a list of hardware. Also we need things like what wattage your PSU is as adding two graphics cards to a computer is not as simple as people think especially when it is a branded computer already prebuilt from a manufacturer. We adivise to upgrade the PSU as well as GPU. Not all systems can use dual ATI graphics cards; in order to take advantage of ATI CrossFire technology, you must have the following: A Crossfire-capable motherboard with two PCI-express x16 or x8 lanes A power supply capable of powering the cards you choose Two identical ATI CrossFire-capable graphics cards CrossFire bridge connector More things to try is Uninstall the old GPU drivers then download and update the graphic cards hardware drivers. Have you installed the Cross-Fire Bridge? Did you enter BIOS and setup Dual Slot Configuration? Use this link as a basic setup help as a check list: How to Install ATI Crossfire. You say a noise comes from the monitor are you using the monitor as a speaker or do you use sperate speakers? Let me know your specs and try the few things I have listed above and let me know how it goes. Thankyou JB.
  22. Your welcome... I wish I was one of the lads LOL.
  23. Sorry to but in but does the drive start up? Can you feel it vibrate or hear it power on? Does it show in "Disk Management"? Open "Run" box and type in diskmgmt.msc and hit enter on your keypad.Doesthe drive show up there? If yes it may need to have a drive letter assigned to it.If it does show up can you tell us what it states for that HDD please. JB.
  24. Hello there. Windows Element I just read this and it does not list Windows 8.BUT it does list lots of other items like Direct X etc.Check what is listed is fully updated on your new machine. However so far all I can find is Elements 11 is compatable and 9 is not. This maybe your issue, however one of the guys may be able to advise you further so hang in there. JB.
  25. Hello and welcome to the forum. Are you saying you removed the old hard drive from another laptop and installed it in an external case? Did the other laptop die? What OS did the old one have as your new one has Windows 8? Does the hard drive show in "Disk Managment"? If yes you need to assign a letter to it,one that is not already assigned to another type drive. Open "Run" type in this command diskmgmt.msc and hit enter on your keyboard. Please let us know if the drive shows in there and how it is listed. Thankyou,JB.
