  1. Can I just add to this? The sound issue happens while your playing online games? This may not be an issue with your sound card. This could be the site you are using and there server or your speed of internet.Could be while playing PC games via disk I would point to it could be a DVD/CD drive issue.....Lack of RAM,gosh I could add a few things to the list that could cause the sound to freeze. How much RAM do you have? What speed is your internet? Does the game freeze as well as sound? Have you tried leaving the logitechs switched on and connected, then via device manager uninstall the sound card then reboot the computer? Have you tried an uninstall of software and driver and downloaded a fresh copy of software and the driver? Have you tested the speakers on another computer, not a laptop? Yup I am butting in but I see there could be another issue here.
  2. I recommend you uninstall all network drivers and reinstall them.... Code 39 Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Cause There are several causes of Code 39 errors: A required device driver is missing. A required binary file is corrupted. There is a problem with the file I/O process. A driver that is referencing an entry point in another binary file is unable to load. Recommended resolution Reinstall the drivers for this device. Uninstall and reinstall the driver Uninstall the driver from Device Manager, and then scan for new hardware to install the driver again. You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site. On the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. Follow the instructions. Restart your computer. Open Device Manager, click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes. Follow the instructions. You should of uninstalled SP1 and IE9 not done a restore..... Try this: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner I sugest cable connecting the computer and see if you can get a connection again..... Your operating system may of become corrupt causing the errors.Did you turn off your AV before installing SP1?

  6. Hello Henry. Firstly I would power off the laptop and remove battery. Turn it over locate the hard drive and check it is fully seated. Replace the battery. Can you start up the machine and enter BIOS/Setup.It should say on the screen Press ? to enter setup...This ? could be F1.F2,DEL or another. Look around the listed tabs and see if you can see if your hard drive is listed. Is it listed? The error you are getting could be a number of things such as a corrupt operating system or even a faulty or dead hard drive,do you have a recovery or install disk? If the operating system is corrupt and if it cannot be logged onto all I can sugest is to remove the hard drive place into a 2.5 external conversion case, this will make the drive USB connection...Then it can be plugged into another computer and all files hopefully can be removed... The you need to run a recovery on the laptop either by a recovery/install disk or by a hidden recovery partition on the laptops hard drive. Or the hard drive is faulty or dead and needs replacing and windows reinstalled.
  7. Go to the computer manufacturers website and under there support tab input the make and model and download and install the drivers for free. This could possibly be the backlight on the monitor has gone or a connection problem.... Check under power settings and set monitor never to hybernate or sleep.
  8. Hello there. Ok lets try a few things... Firstly this usaly points to graphics card or RAM. Power off the computer and remove from power outlet. Open up the computer and touch the power supply for a few seconds to eliminate static. If you have more than one RAM/Memory sticks remove all but one.Power up the computer does it still beep? Do this with every stick of RAM individualy. If your graphics card is a PCI slot card. Remove the card and clean it if needs be. Resit the card in its slot and power on the computer. Does it still beep? Or resetting the BIOS may help. Simply power off the computer. Remove the BIOS battery and count 10,replace battery and restart the computer. Has the beeps stopped?

  21. Hello there..... If you used an upgrade disk then you can go back to XP no problem.... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971762 If you need to reinstall Windows XP then it is illegal to install an operating system that has already been installed on another computer.... You need an XP full instillation disk, either purchase one with its own COA key or use the origonal that came with the machine.... Most modern laptops/netbooks/computers come with a recovery console already installed on the hard drive to use to recover or repair the operating system. If you have a disk as in XP that can legaly be used to install the operating system XP then you can either use an external CD/DVD rom drive or this link explains how to install XP from a USB pen drive. http://extremetechsupport.com/threads/10305-How-to-install-Windows-using-a-USB-Pen-Drive-and-WinToFlash.
  22. KenB,I have fitted a 160 gig HDD in a Dell pIII with no issues.....Do you mean an older PC than a PIII?
  23. Nope.... What make and model is your computer? Is it a Dell? Is it a HP? etc, also what number go with the make of PC?
  24. Hello and welcome. What size in gig is the origonal hard drive? If this is a realy old computer that came with around a 10 gig HDD then I would only recommend upto an 80 gig HDD....If the computer was lets say origonaly fitted with a 40 gig HDD then upto a 160 gig would be fine..... http://www.wdc.com/en/library/sata/2879-001146.pdf No you do not have to buy the exact same make and model.....You can buy a generic HDD wich are cheap enough to purchase....The above link states your HDD is an EIDE
