  1. Have you entered BIOS and checked what is set there?
  2. I actualy think the mouse is the issue not the ports.Just lets try one port for now.
  3. None. In device manager individualy update drivers via the highlight and right click update driver. Or you can possibly try uninstall the USB port that the mouse is plugged into then restart the laptop and let new hardware wizard reinstall it. There maybe a possible conflict with other drivers you have installed for other external hardware you use.

  5. Hello there. Ok firstly what is the make and model of your PC/laptop? Then lets see if we can get you that chipset. Ok the Technika mouse makes are sorry to say are rubbish.I would never purchase anything under that brand. I have not heard of the other brand. I would stick to Logitech brands for your mouse.
  6. Hello there. Firstly try and update of your USB ports via device manager. Possibly download your latest chipset for your make and model of computer from the makers website as this usaly contains USB hardware drivers. Could you please state make and models of mice you have been trying to install or use?
  7. Make sure you power off the computer and disconnect from power outlet before opening. It is just gently clean all fans etc internaly. I see you say it is an old computer.Is it possibly that your hard drive is rather full and you need to do a cleanup of old files and make more space on the hard drive? How much free space does your hard drive have left and how large of hard drive do you have?
  8. Hello there. Go to your "Start" menu and click on "Run". Type "msconfig" into the text box and press Enter. Under boot tab is Win 7 listed? If it is delete it. You may need your XP install disk to later run sfc /scannow while logged into windows in command prompt. Or possibly: Have you tried using your XP full install disk and booting into recovery console with command prompt and tried the command fixboot?
  9. Hello there. The first thing you should do is reinatsll the graphics card drivers. Reinstall ATI Catalyst. Then configure the card via windows and ATI Catalyst. Graphics Drivers & Software JB.

  11. Hey lm do you have a spare hard drive lying around? I rather think your hard drive maybe be broken as powering off via wall outlet can often cause issues to the hard drive or even kill it. Are you able to enter BIOS and load defaults set first boot to DVD rom pop in the install disk and try again? Is the hard drive showing in BIOS? Also possibly download the hard drives hardware driver from the computer manufacturers website or the maker of the hard drives website and install during your reinstall of the OS?

  14. Your CPU appears fine. It could be a simple case of new GPU but again if you have further heating issues with a new card you could buy a new GPU fan.

  16. Hey Danny,it can run that high. There are a few reasons why it would. Depending on what higher graphical processes you are running. The card is old and may of sustained damage in the past. It is now overheating which is causing possibly more damage. No it should not run that high but it is running higher temps. Have you at least updated GPU driver?

  18. Danny that is an older card I would suspect it would run a little warmer.
  19. Is it possible you can restart and repeatedly tap F8 and choose last known good config or safe mode?Maybe one of those may help. Although I worked on a laptop yesterday and the backlight on the screen had gone.

  24. Hello beebye the first sugestion is to uninstall IE 8 from add and remove in control panel. Then try a reinstall see if that solves the issue. Also addons maybe a cause and disabling them one by one may resolve the issue. JB.
