the samsung r20 uses this type of ram when it leaves the factory (unless changed by another user).DDR2 SoDIMM Non-ECC PC2-5300. you can go on the Crucial web site and order ram from them if need be...they say they garantee 100% compatibility. regards danzil.

hi there Maybe best to ask around to double check if anyone has messed with it. there are ways to remove this password, but it is againts the forum rules to post such an answer, as we can not be certain the laptop is yours. very sorry regards danzil

Problems accessing work computer!!!!
danzil replied to CountyMatty123's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
how do you connect to your work. do you use a dial up vpn connection......start>connect>"connection name". if so you may need port forwarding open... or you may have pptp blocked. or do you use a router to router connection. who is your isp (so we can rule out ip address change,(so we know if your ip is a static or dynamic ip). what is the exact error you are recieving. regards danzil :) -
i totally agree.go with Eset nod32 anti virus with smart security.the company i work for is a registered partner of ESET we used to use Panda when it was good (if it ever was, my opinion).but by far the best AV out there is Nod32.. it has never let me or my clients down, and the firewall is awesome, just remeber to choose interactive mode with the firewall not auto,,,otherwise you will not see the options to allow and block (ask on install)..it will just block what it thinks is unsafe. regards danzil :)

i dis-agree if it is just GP causing this or something similar.then dropping it from the domain and logging in locally to the machine under a new account will cure this regards danzil :) ps/but if there isnt anything major on there needed then yes indeed format it. edited:i will learn to spell one day

ok is the computer still set as logging onto the domain though, because if it is it maybe picking up folfer redirect or any other group policy settings set up by there admin,,,,there is a mass you can in group policy so i still would try removing it from the domain.. i-tunes should be fine copied over,,, load up itunes again it may ask to re-sync let it do so..then just pop the songs aback in the playlists and re-sync regards:) danzil

copy the data from h: (if its needed) to your nephews docs and settings directory, remove all shares.... you should then have a remotely normal xp setup......is this computer currently on a domain...if so it maybe loading local policys installed on that machine. remove it from the domain if you can, just go to start>control panel>system>computer name. just click on workgroup and put in any name you like,.,,,,you may be prompted for an admin password though. see if that helps...let me know if im off the mark here. regards danzil :)

mmmm ok. has the machine got folder re-direction turned on in group policy. i would first try adding another user to the laptop with admin rights.then see if that has a proper my docs.if so you can then move his data to the relevant directories and remove that profile. let me know if that helps or not... What is the h: directory is it a simpl folder share or another partition right click he h: drive and view its properties, then post back. i will see if i can help some more. regards danzil :)

MS Office 2007 updates failing to install on XP Pro
danzil replied to russbarnes's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
Have you tired my suggestion of removing the office 2007 components individualy from start>run type in without the quotes "installer".then in my previous post i show you how to find the msi or exe to uninstall office 2007. You are looking for anything that says office 2007. Just double click it.....do so for all updates. Oyou have done that go to start>run>regedit look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\12.0 right click that key and click on delete. do the same for HKEY_CURRENT USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\OFFICE\12.0 If you need more details please ask. This has always cured my office 2007 problems... regards danzil :) -

MS Office 2007 updates failing to install on XP Pro
danzil replied to russbarnes's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum

can you boot into safe mode with networking. if so try going to Free ESET Online Antivirus Scanner. and run a scan for any nasty's that maybe in your system..(may not work in safe mode),also download mailware bytes..Malwarebytes.org and run a scan with that. also when you log into safe mode....what user accounts can you see or do you get auto logged in......hopefully you should see "administrator" and then "your account" if you can go in as administrator. post back your findings.. regards danzil ps please get hijack this and post a log for us to take a look at..|MG| Trend Micro HijackThis 2.02

Do you have the operating system cd's in case you need to do a repair install..... in case you have a corrupt system file try, booting back into your safe mode, go to run type in sfc /scannow you maybe prompted for your cd...this will try its best to replace any missing or corrupt files. regards danzil :)
-
If the above doesnt work i would attempt a system restore in safe mode. start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. load that up and choose a date previous to all this happening then click restore.....your pc will reboot, try logging in then.. You will not lose any of your recent data, and it is completely reversible (sounded like a MS quote ha). let me know if that helps...but try what the other guys suggested first. regards danzil :)
