halp! pc will not boot up!

Installing to an external hard drive should not really be a problem......the problem you would have is with your hardware changes.....ie, install on your pc then putting the hard drive back into your laptop would result in the blue screening. do you recall what the error message was when it blue screened. here are somethings i would try. double check that my computer is set to boot from cd in the bios make sure all cables to the hard drive are stable and not lose. give that a try, if not post back There are ways to install xp to your new drive via your PC, but as i cannot be certain that you have an orignal OS cd i cannot help with that. regards danzil

Hi Fencer what version of internet explorer are you using. If you are using version 7 or 8, try going to start>all programmes>accessories>system tools. choose "Internet Explorer (no-add -ons). see if that allow IE to load. if it does then we can disable the add on that is causing you the issue... If not do you have your XP cd, we can re-install the original internet explorer then upgrade to the latest. regards danzil

Rolling/bellydancing screeen!!
danzil replied to Casswilf's topic in Tech Support & Discussions Forum
you could also undo your system restore, then go to Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies and download the driver for your graphics card, this will then get rid of the belly dancing. ha. maybe just maybe you might still have it in the root of your hard drive, browse to c:\nvidia in there will be the setup. that is the default decompression folder for the nvidia setup install. hope that helps a little regards danzil -

Hi what keyboard and mouse are you using are he ps/2 or USB....not all bios's have the usb legacy turned on, so you using are they have to use a ps/2 keyboard ort mouse to select the option you require. Just noticing did you mis tyoe yoiur CPU speed. CPU:Intel ® Celeron ® CPU 5.20GHz should that be 2.50ghz. if it is clocking it at that speed that maybe where your issue is. overheating and obvioulsy crashing, this maybe the reason windows will not boot correctly. go into your bios and load optimised defaults, and retry. 5.20ghz is WAY to much to overclock that cpu if you have... regards danzil
