  1. I run a scan with Malwarebytes and scan results said I had malware on my system. DAZ Loader is classed as malware. What a joke. It is simply Malwarebytes sucking up to big brother Microsoft.IMO. One wonders who is sleeping in whose bed sometimes.
  2. Your wife is spoiling you, Starbuck. Marvellous modern technology. I want one.:D
  3. Thanks Guys. Had a lovely Birthday. Yes Ken So much easier to read down under.:)
  4. My Avast is set to manual, Nev. Had no issues with Avast as yet.
  5. For Sydney I am happy with my speed. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3738384645
  6. .idlerc is used by the Python Programming language. This is also installed as support for some programs that Use Python to run, I would not have deleted as quite safe.
  7. Further to KenB's good advice, I am thinking maybe your AV scanner may have found something and quarantined the file. If nothing works I would be inclined to run sfc /scannow from the elevated command prompt window.
  8. Hi. What your trying to do is very simple and Nev is giving you good advice. It is not complicated. Nev offered the write a step by step guide. Not many forums would do that off the cuff. If you listen to Nev you will be uploading photos in no time.
  9. Hi Bringe. You will be able to retrieve your documents however there is a path to follow when you hook up your old drive. I'm sure you will know what to do, but just in case.... 1. Place the hdd from the defective pc in your new caddy/enclosure. 2. Plug the caddy into a USB port on any healthy computer. 3. You may get an auto run box up on the screen...If not, go to computer/My computer and open the drive from there. Here's an image of what you are likely to see: http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s210/DSTM_photos/Examplee.jpg As you can see from the image, there is a list of folders. The one you are interested in will be "Users". Open that folder to find your user name, and then in turn your personal images, documents, files, etc. Hope this helps out.
  10. Hi Bringe. Sata Hard Drives are different to IDE Drives. This will work if you take out the Hard Drive and put it in an external enclosure or docking station and hook up to the good computer via usb. The good computer will boot as normal and will recognize your external with the data on it. Save all the data to the good computer firstly. Then when you have XP reinstalled then copy the data back via USB Flash Drive to the new OS. The main thing at the moment is saving your data.
  11. Hi and welcome to FPCH. This from Microsoft should help. http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=307545 Personally I would take the Hard drive out, hook the drive up to a working computer and get the data off the drive. Then put the drive back in the faulty computer and reinstall the Operating System.
  12. Your Welcome. We are all learning something new every day.
  13. Lastly click the "FINISH" box.
  14. Hi. Open up your Hotmail and copy the URL from the address bar. Right click on your desktop, and select "New > Shortcut". Paste the URL in the shortcut box. Hit next, give it a reasonable name (like "Hotmail"), and you're done.
  15. Hi David. I would try and find out what's wrong with your Acer before even considering another Laptop. It may only be something simple. As far as Laptop brands go, Laptop magazine test laptops all the time. Here is their 2014 test results and I am not in disagreement with their findings. Personally I like ASUS but then again that's only my opinion. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s210/DSTM_photos/test-1.png
  16. That's good news. When I said reseat the card was a long shot. Great it worked.
  17. I am thinking the same, Nev I know Amazon sell legit Windows7 install discs. Pretty expensive though.
  18. Read MS no longer sell Windows7 You could try downloading Windows7 SP1 professional x64 bit ISO from here. Then burn an install Disc. http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/446844-digital-river-links-for-windows-7-sp1-media
  19. Do yourself a favour and avoid Acer like the plague. That Disc looks like it is a OEM copy. I would purchase Windows7 straight from Microsoft.
  20. I would take it back to PC World. I have no way of telling if the Video card is seen in the BIOS. I naturally don't know what changes they may have made. Sorry I can't be of more help.
  21. No, Windows is not detecting the card. Either the card is dead or cable or bent or broken pins where the DVI cable connects to the monitor and graphics card. Please check very carefully. Failing that you will have to either try another Graphics card or get this Graphics card tested at a computer shop. Remove the card, clean the contacts and re seat the card.
  22. Why so many updates? Have you changed your operating system from Windows Vista?
  23. Download "free Speccy" and post a screen shot. That will give us the information we need. https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download My guess you haven't uninstalled possibly corrupted drivers and you are attempting to install fresh drivers on top which won't work. That can give you the error you are getting.
  24. You keep saying Graphics card. What graphics card did you fit?
  25. Are the drivers installed for the new Video card?
