  1. Are any of these your model? Windows Vista™ compatibility | OS Compatibility | Digital AV | Consumer Products | Support | Panasonic Global What particular software are you looking for? The two that seem to be the closest don't list Windows 7.
  2. Hi giannaschwartz. At the point you got the error I suspect malware. I'll let the malware experts know of your thread. In the mean time are you able to get into safemode? If they suspect malware we'll move your thread to the malware removal section.
  3. Hi and welcome.
  4. You're going to have to get it to boot first. Bookmarks or Favorites in IE can be copied over. Open IE. Click File. Click Import and Export. Follow the wizard to create the file. Burn to disk. On the new machine use the wizard to import the file. The Address book has a similar wizard. Open the Outlook Express address book. Click file. Click export. You'll see several different options as to save as what. If you are going to be using Windows Live Mail you can choose the WAB option to export as. I suggest exporting to each option however so that you have more import options. Especially if you aren't going to be using WLM. Burn to disk. On the new machine use the wizard to import the file.
  5. The malware experts should be able to help you with this. Please be patient until they get to it.
  6. Have you searched for the file name or for the file extension?
  7. Try doing a System Restore Woodbug.
  8. Being XP it might be how your settings to view are set. It's possible that it might be set off the screen to the right so you can't view them. A screen shot posting a picture would help. I have the following text for Windows ME and if I remember right XP is similar so it might offer a clue. Personalized Menus: I hate it. This will hide programs that you haven't used for a while. You can still see them by clicking the down arrow at the bottom of the list. But there are better ways to keep your program list clean than letting Windows decide for you. Turn it off by clicking Start. Then go to Settings. Then click Taskbar and Start Menu. Under the General tab uncheck "Use personalized menus" And while you're already here I would suggest clicking on the "Advanced tab". Click the box to check "Enable dragging and dropping" and click the box to uncheck "Scroll Programs". Click OK to save the changes you made to the settings The point is that it may be one of those settings under Taskbar Start Menu. Like I said a picture could help confirm this.
  9. Try going down the list. 1. Uninstall the toolbar. 2. Uninstall the paint program. 3. Reinstall safari.
  10. I know this isn't an answer to your question but there are a few things you can do to make it a little more like IE. As for being slow I' haven't found that to be an issue. I did find it to be a real pain to set up the address book when migrating my Windows Mail contacts into the Windows Live Mail Contacts since I have them grouped by folders. I tried these others briefly and went back to Live. Pegasus Mail. Thunderbird Mail. Eudora.
  11. Yes. Just PM me the new username on the new account or visa versa and I'll merge them into the new one.
  12. Hi Groom and welcome. Sorry but there is no way to change a username. If you want sign up again and let me know. I can merge the two accounts.
  13. Hi Quacker. Why do you think it might be malware? By reset do you mean restart? You can't boot into safemode but are you presented with the option to do so? Was last known good configuration listed if you saw the options? That clicking noise you mentioned concerns me. It might be hard drive failure.
  14. Hi. While you wait for a reply on your card I think the minimum specs for RAM are 1.5GB which means you probably need 3.0GB. So don't be too quick to buy a card if the rest of your system won't support the game. You currently fall short at only 1.0 GB. Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core2 Duo or 2.4 GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 (Minimum) Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 9.0c–compliant video card (512 MB recommended) Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 / 7900 / 8 / 9 / GTX series ATI RADEON X1800 / X1900 / HD 2000 / HD 3000 / HD 4000 / HD 5000 series Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. I doubt your computer will be able to handle these types of games no matter what you do.
  15. Hi deb. We'll be looking for your post.
  16. As Dalo noted we don't condone torrents as it's a great way to get infected and in some cases it's used to illegaly obtain software and media. I'm not suggesting that is what you are doing but it is our policy not to help with P2P or torrent issues.
  17. A recovery disk is supplied by the manufacturer of the PC. Dell, HP, Acer etc. It will only work with the same make, model and number, or number series of computers. So say for instance you have a Compaq Presario 5010. A recovery disk will only work on a 5010 or in Compaqs case 5000 series. If you have a full retail disk of Windows then it can be used on any computer but it can only be validated on one computer at a time.
  18. That's great to hear butler. I've seen that problem before with Outlook or Outlook Express but not with Windows Mail and Vista. That's why I asked about it and did some research. You might want to check that your neighbor has all the Windows updates. You're a kind man to help your friends butler. Maybe next time you can help others here as well. Oh and thank you for your very kind words.
  19. The same fix might still work but you should also see the Microsoft article Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a computer that is running Windows Vista if it doesn't.
  20. Happy Birthday Alan :)
  21. Hi butler. Vista uses Windows Mail not Outlook Express. Unless you mean Outlook which is part of the Microsoft Office suite. Can you verify which one it is? Anyway the first thing to try is to get it unstuck from the outbox. This sometimes happens when it's trying to send but can't. Open OE and click on File. Then click on Work Offline. Now try to delete it.
  22. If the partition is the Vista recovery partition then you may be able to reinstall Vista. Try tapping F11 or F10 in some rare cases at startup and you may be presented with various options including a complete recovery. If not then you will need a set of recovery disks but they do need to be the right ones for your model. To order if you are in the UK go to https://www.best2serve.com/sales/declare_rcd.php?part=&lc=en&cc=uk which is on the best2serve site that LinkindinkinPark posted. You will need to enter your product code/model. To determine your model go to Control Panel>System or download Belarc Advisor.
  23. Is yours a Compaq Presario CQ40-610TU Notebook PC or Compaq Presario CQ40-610TX Notebook PC? Like Match said post back if you need to order the recovery disks. Order options are different depending on what country you live in. Are you in the UK?
