Common sense can help avoid some of the issues but one in particular caught my eye.

This means you have to hide your details, lists and change your settings each time. Surely this could be done without it after each redesign.
One thing is your date of birth. You list it when you sign up. But later you hide it so as not to give identity thieves too much info only to find it listed again. Changing your date of birth in your profile might help alleviate this ongoing facebook issue. Maybe I should change my year to be twenty-one again and change the day to February 29.
