  7. There are specific devices for this job As pointed out a rolled up towel is not ideal on all laptops
  8. ASUS are well known for their quality of components on MOBO's and GPU's - I have not had much experience with ASUS lappys but if they follow in the footsteps of the MOBO's - they probably are the best on the planet :D

This is also based on the fact that you want 'FREE' software - There are plenty of software suites that are better than free programs that you can purchase such as NOD32 and my personal favourite WINDOWS LIVE ONECARE Onecare is around £30-£40 if you buy it from MS site - but if you get it from an Etailer you pay around £15 and it can be installed on up to 3 machines

  21. CHECK that the RAM is the same speed if you add 2 different speeds of RAM it will ALWAYS run at the lower value. Check that values in the BIOS are set to default for the RAM

  23. You should have a 'tools and utilities' disk
  24. If you ever plan on overclocking - you can just disassociate the RAM from the CPU speed ;)
  25. Just make sure that you have the old driver - incase it all goes horribly wrong which happens alot with some drivers ATI 2-3 years ago anyone - nightmare
