  3. Jamie, **** I love your involvement with the community, really I do...but here are some things to maybe enhance your conversation you have with us. Read the post before hitting submit - Make sure it sounds in your head like it will be read to us. If not, we can't connect on your synapses as well as ours. Microsoft has been around for quite awhile, and Channel9 has as well, take a few additional seconds/minutes to read your post and make sure we'll understand what your talking about. Complete Sentances - In order for us to be able to decode anything, we have to have sentances that we can read and make sense of.*** ** * *"I want dane cook because I like lettuce" doesn't make a damn bit of sense to us. Use American English - You've seen the issues we have with Dovella, I understand your from Canada (forget the actual part), if you're french canadian and your english skips because it's a second or third language for you, then it's understandable how your sentences get so mutilated. But when others say that your post is a reminder of what LSD does to the brain, while I know you're probably older than us (just a tad), move past the LSD experimental years. My mom did it, I'm sure you can as well.I think by doing this, you'll be more effective in what you're trying to communicate to us, as well as Microsoft, and probably get more feedback/discussion and be more dynamic in your approach at changing things inside the blue monster. I don't doubt at all your abilities to impact others, just when they have to piece together your post it can turn people off. Love, Everyone here at C9 (Without actual consent) oh and keep posting. 4. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/telecoms/article3965033.ece Whenever I have debated the occurrence of such as scheme, I have always been dissuaded by the argument that it'd be like looking for a needle in a haystack. If you live in a big city you are tracked by CCTV as soon as you leave your house. Your phone and Email is now in the public domain. Your spending is monitored by the bank, and if you have more than £5000 cash, then the bank may call the police on you. Your medical records will be available on-line and your DNA will soon be etched on an ID card (only for your DNA to be sold off to life insurance companies to say "your father had this disease so we will charge you twice as much, because you grandmother has this disease, I'm afraid you pay five times as much"). Looks like I misjudged this. The argument I guess is "if you are not a terrorist, then you have nothing to worry about!". Do you agree? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

But I couldn't help but respond with*abuse@gmail.com in the cc line. Dude.* This is at least the sixth spam I’ve gotten from you re: zi255.com.* I’m a professional web developer, and a damned good one at that.* I happen to know my way around SEO, I code my own solutions, I have tracking systems that rival the UK CCTV project, and I maintain it myself.* That’s the way it is, and that’s the way I want it. Had you done your research (i.e. spend more than 30 seconds on the site), you would quickly realize zi255.com is my personal blog.* There is no company associated with it, it’s just a guy who wrote his own blogging engine. 12. Hello, I’m Sunava Dutta and I’m the Program Manager focused on improving our AJAX scenarios in IE8. In this short post I’ll introduce you to a feature we’re implementing in the browser that enables safer mashups. The Same Origin Policy (SOP) requires that browsers prevent script from accessing the contents of another domain to prevent cross site script attacks. Web sites today, like Facebook and Live among others, allow users to drag and drop third party ‘gadgets’ or applications to their page. As the BBC News reports, there are many challenges to doing so safely. These components are usually embedded third party scripts. Unfortunately these third party scripts run with the same privileges as the parent page and can potentially access personal data, cookies and other credentials. Attempts are currently underway to secure such script based applications. Other forms of embedding applications exist such as inserting the gadget in an IFrame, however while these are secure they can’t communicate with the page and aren’t as useful. In order to allow rich mashup scenarios where components can exchange information and permissions with the parent page, the IE team and other members of the HTML 5.0 Working Group are developing a cross document messaging feature. Communication using strings is enabled by a postMessage method. Hosting pages or gadgets are advised to check the origin domain of the content before inserting it in its DOM. For more details, please refer to our MSDN Dev Center Article on cross document messaging. Sunava Dutta Program Manager http://blogs.msdn.com/aggbug.aspx?PostID=8518729 More... 22. I've got 2 PCs here at work.* My new machine, from this year, and an older PC (~ 3 years old).* I use them both for various things.* I use the older one for building over versions of our VB6 app when I have to do that sort of thing.* And I'll use it as a backup web browsing system when I've got more important things going on my new PC. For some reason, which I do not understand, Internet Explorer 7 has become very unreliable on the old machine.* Whenever I start surfing off of my start page, it almost always shuts down.* It doens't matter what website I'm going to, it just shuts down.* I have not been able to find anything at all in the event logs to indicate any eminent failure - nothing is there related to this problem.* I had thought that perhaps putting on SP3 for XP would make a difference, since the new SP3 updates IE7, but that hasn't helped. So, how do I find out what's going on, and why, so that hopefully I can fix it? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

Speaking of messages from the OS -- how about this?* I decide to delete a folder.* It contains stuff that I know about generally.* However, my task it simply to get rid of it.* I open Windows Explorer.* I navigate to the folder that contains the folder that I want to delete.* I right click the folder I want to delete and click Delete.* All is well until the Windows Vista Delete Engine comes across a file whose name is "too long for the Recycle Bin."* For some inexplicable reason, this is an event that must be brought to my attention.* Frankly, I don't care.* And, if I did care, what could I possibly do about it at this point in time?* I went in to drain the swamp.* I don't need this alligator to come up and tell me about the impact on his habitat. 24. So I've been using Vista ever since it came out basically and I'm more or less quite happy with it. I wouldn't want to go back to XP, except for two issues that just keep getting worse and worse. Boot Compared to XP (on a similar machine) and Ubuntu on the same machine, Vista takes forever to boot, and I don't know, this is the first time I've actually measured it, but I keep thinking it just got worse and worse over time. From me pressing enter at bootloader to Login-Screen: 1:38 (Loading bar until about 1:10, then black till at about 1:30ish that vista logo animation, and login screen finally ready for input at 1:38) 20 seconds between entering password and usable Desktop (it shows much quicker than this, but I can't actually do anything until about 20 seconds) So, I know about background programs that auto-load, Windows defender tells me only stuff loading are: C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\WMPNSCFG.exe C:\Windows\explorer.exe C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe C:\Windows\ehome\ehTray.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe -hide C:\Windows\SOUNDMAN.EXE (which is a realtek app) I know about defragging, and I have defragged using PerfectDisk 2008. Install Size This is probably the worse off the two....my freaking install keeps growing and growing and growing....I'm running out of space! Windows Folder: 9,76 GB acc. to Explore -> 18,4 GB with third party tool (SequoiaView) Windows\winsxs folder: 0 acc. to Explorer -> 11,4 GB with third party tool (Seriously!!???) Because my free space is really getting less, I trust third party tool, think Explorer doesn't count that folder for some reason. Theres tons of files in there, even wmv stuff. I don't need/want that. Each Windows update it gets worse I think....I googled but it says under no circumstances deleted folders/files in there. Anything I can do to get rid of all that those backups and whatnot? I tried Deleting old System Restore points, but there really is no effect. So, I dont know...maybe somebody could help me? Or perhaps we can all post some comparison values, maybe this is normal? I don't know....but it's getting a bit frustrating. I bet if I did a fresh install and only update SP1, I don't know about startup (although as said I feel it used to be noticably faster), but I bet that stupid winsxs folder would take up half my C: partition. Needless to say I don't want to reinstall. Thnx for listening to my little rant and perhaps this can be productive and somebody can help me :-) Hardware: Athlon X2 2,6 GhZ, 2GB DDR, Seagate 160 GB Sata (primary partition 30GB). OS: Windows Vista Ultimate X64 SP1 + all patches More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
  25. Hi, we have a requirement to be able to compare 2 images and let the user know how the images compare against each other: similar with a percentage that is: 75% of image 2 is the same as image 1. The goal is to be able to compare scanned documents and determine which ones we can delete since the information is already available in another document. 3rd party tool integration into the system is not an option, but we can make use of libraries and make calls from the DOT NET 2.0 application suite. I have looked around for a while to find libraries, pointers on how we can implement this functionality but no luck. Thanks in advance for your help, Shiku More...
