What would be the porper way to call MyFunc(int, int, Struct2*) which is in unmanaged DLL from C# code? Where Struct2 { int int Struct1[sOME_CONST] } or { int int Struct1* } I've tried to define STRUCT2 in managed code as [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Sequential)] publicstructSTRUCT2 { publicint XINT; publicint YINT; [MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStruct, SizeConst = SOME_CONST)] publicSTRUCT1[]someStruct; } and then calling STRUCT2 myStruct2;* MyFunc(someInt, someOtherInt, myStruct2); but looks like LPStruct is reserved for some misterious use (MSDN articles/help didn't help much). Any ideas? More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

I have a problem with postbacks and master pages. I have a website project I’ve quickly put together to test this in Visual Studio 2005 (asp.net & c#).* On the master page, there are two ContentPlaceholders. In one of the web pages called search.aspx (which uses the master page), I have a ASP.Net WebControl Button in the second ContentPlaceHolder that I simply want to use to generate a postback. However, when I try the button in the browser, nothing happens!* There is just no postback! I am using Internet Explorer 7; it seems to work okay in Firefox.* But it needs to work in IE7 for what I am doing. Can anyone help with this, as it’s critical to the actual project? Thanks in advance. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

I wonder if this would have been released if the PWN 2 OWN results had been different. According to these blokes, Microsoft has shown improvements in their handling of vulnerability disclosures, but Apple seems to be sliding backwards. The writer surmises that the problem could be the relationship between the Apple and the crackers.* In order to maintain their image of invulnerability, Apple isn't keen on acknowledging holes in their OS/applications. So when researchers discovere holes, then they are more likely to sit on them until events like this come round. Microsoft has the right approach here. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

In an on-going effort to ensure that Channel 9 videos only display appropriate content, the Channel 9 Dev Team recently ported the spam feature to filter existing video content. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the results of our first tests using some of the more popular C9 video clips. The video filter should be complete by the time we ship Channel 9 V4. * Congratulations to the dev team and to JKL consulting for creating the original video filter prototype. Adobe Joins Linux Foundation “Adobe delivers key RIA technologies for Linux users, such as Adobe®Flash® Player and now Adobe AIR™, to deploy RIAs in the browser and onthe desktop,” said David McAllister, director of standards and opensource at Adobe. “The Linux Foundation is a valuable resource, providing a forum where we can work with the community to ensure AdobeRIA technologies are compatible across the Linux software platform.” Unless Moonlight is licensed for Linux....I see AIR > Silverlight being a common statement. I know there's been some strife in the C9 coffeehouse recently because of the new "report spam" functionality. I'm here to thank you all for your feedback, and to let you know that we are listening. Because the Coffeehouse is Channel 9. And listening is only half of the conversation; the other half is action. So, I am glad to be reporting that we have a solution to the spam question. Ultimately, my goal is to eliminate the scourge that is spam from then entirity of Channel 9. Following are the steps that we have implemented, and will be deploying within the days: To eliminate automated postings, we will introduce a CAPTCHA system to ensure that unwanted automated posts don't make it onto C9. Our CAPTCHA images come from decades of MS Research work, and have been used on a wide-ranging list of properties such as Hotmail and MSN Mail. For those who aren't familiar with CAPTCHA, it is usually an image that's very easy for people to break, yet impossible for programs to recognize. For example, in the following CAPTCHA, everyone will see the words "Channel 9", and they simply type that into a validation box when posting. Note: Our CAPTCHA's are case-sensitive. http://mnt.images.s3.amazonaws.com/c9%20captcha.jpg In fact, HumanCompiler has just finished with the new posting module, and I must say, it looks great! http://mnt.images.s3.amazonaws.com/new%20c9%20post.gif But automated spam is only a third of all our spam, we've found out. One third is human-generated spam, and we need your participation for those. In retrospect, we can see that our current "weighted" system of spam reporting is flawed. It isn't fast acting enough. Depending on the posters, it could take from 3 to 7 reports for the system to mark a post as spam. I'm going to fix that. We will recruit amongst our members for moderator, by asking you to take a test. It will comprise of 25 multiple-choice questions, and we will be very stringent as to who will make the cut. Please stay tune for this moderator examination. And finally, we will announce a new banning system. It's just common sense that we should ban those accounts that create spam in the first place. From our database, we can see that about 100 new users sign up to Channel 9 every week. About 50% of these accounts are used to create spam posts. We will start a very agressive banning policy of madatory deletion of 20 accounts per day to remove those spam generating, or inactive, accounts. I believe that with the implementation of these steps, and your help, Channel 9 will return to its old self where members gets along, and the community became vibrant again. Thank you. Jeff Sanquist.
