  7. Hi, This is more a network admin type question but duno if anyone has any ideas. Duno if this has happened to anyone else before but a spammer has got hold of one of my clients email addresses and is using it as the "from" address for a load of spam. The client then gets a load of non delivery reports. This happened to me a while ago when I had a hotmail address and I got something like 2000 non delivery reports one day. The messages definatly are not being sent from my email server and I have checked its not an*open relay etc. I am worried that the client (or my email server) will get blacklisted because of this if the spam checker programs dont check where the email actually originates from. Apart from creating an inbox rule is there anything you can do to stop this kind of thing? Thanks, Alex More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

  12. So, I want to be able to work anywhere, anytime on my pet projects. To that end I thought of using Virtual PC to have a "virtual development machine" set up, and sticking said "machine" on a USB hard disk. Now comes the tricky part. Obviously my personal machines can have virtual PC installed so using those machines is no problem, but is there a way of running up a virtual machine without having to install client software on the machine I'm plugged into? (For example, making the USB drive bootable, and somehow booting into a virtualisation environment which will then boot the VM.) Is there anything around that does this? (HyperV for example, as obviously VPC doesn't.) Thanks. More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds

  25. Hi, This is another post regarding the problem I am facing with handling exceptions raised by Custom Membership Provider. I have written a class "CustomMemberProvider" which throws an exception through its ValidateUser() method. I would like to rethrow this excepiton from the catch block of the ValidateUser method in order to handle it within the .aspx page and display user an appropriate*message. When I try to throw an exception in the catch block of ValidateUser() method, it halts the execution there and does go back to the .aspx page as expected. I have another post (http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=393940) for the same problem. I had to repost it as I wasn't getting any responses. Therefore, I thought of rephrasing it and posting it one more time. Please help. Regards, Sunny More... View All Our Microsoft Related Feeds
