  1. Here's a game I thought you'd all enjoy, Wolfey agrees too :P So it MUST be good! Polar Jump Just keep clickong on the bear on the way down to make him jump higher, hit the bonuses for boosts, explosion and more! :) But don't let the poor bear fall! :( Hope you like it :)
  2. And am I correct in thinking you have disabled all error reporting and still have the steps that Goku advised in post #4 done? so therefore it should not even be creating a dumprep.exe file if that is the case. And can you still not find it by using any of the methods Goku asked you to try? ctrl+alt+del > Processes, or msconfig, etc? Another thing, I would like you to do is start up msconfig again, and go on to the BOOT.INI tab, make sure the /BOOTLOG check box is ticked. Then reboot/restart your system as normal and IF it freezes and you have to do a forced shut down please start back up into safe mode and navigate to %SystemRoot% folder (Possibly C:\WINDOWS) and open up the file named: Ntbtlog.txt Then please post the last few lines of that file on a reply please. Thanks
  3. Hey and Welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help! :-)
  4. Hey Bindo and welcome to the forums! Hope you can stick around and enjoy your time here helping others and/or being helped! ;)
  5. Hey djaj8, can I just ask a quick question, when you try shut down or restart/reboot your system do you get the following notice: "The application failed to initialize because the windows station is shutting down"?
  6. Hey David, I have also searched around for you and have found another alternative of fixing your problem. This link goes to the same page that wolfey linked you to, with the microsoft instructions on how to uninstall SP3. here. As this didn't work before, can you merge the solutions given in this thread by doing the following: Print off or copy down the instructions given on that website, the second methond, which is: Method 2: Use the hidden $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder Click Start, click Run, type c:\windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spuninst.exe in the Open box, and then click OK. When the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Removal Wizard starts, click Next. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove Windows XP SP3. Next restart your computer into safemode as wolfey advised earlier. and then follow those instructions on how to uninstall SP3 again and see if it works whilst in safe mode. Please come back and let us know how it goes. NOTE: If you are using Norton, first of all disable it, along with other antivirus programs, before attempting to uninstall it again as it is known for interfereing with the installation and uninstallation of service packs, as found with SP2 and SP3.
  7. Hello and welcome bri and yes, if you mean that the thumbnails do not show, here is how to enable them in vista: Click on the Start button, then on All Programs, follow by Accessories. Run Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer window, click on Organize button on the menu/shortcut bar. In the pull down menu, click on Folder and Search Options. Folder Options dialog window will appear. Click on View tab. Under the Files and Folders tree heading, uncheck (untick) the checkbox next to Always show icons, never thumbnails option. Click the OK button. Hope this helps!
  8. EDIT: sorry I explained the really hard and long way.. the easier way is when you click on "post reply" scroll down to "addtional options" and in the section called "manage attachments" click on that button and then click on "browse" at the top and find your file, then click on upload and then post your reply.
  9. Okay, well hopefully all will be okay with the replaced RAM stick, if not, you know where to come :)
  10. Hey spiderjuan. Do you know what motherboard your PC has, and what is the current onboard graphics that you have? Just some more info about your system would be helpful. Thanks and welcome to the forums :) seems wolfey beat me to it :P I'll let someone else take over then :D
  11. Just a very silly question but could be vital :P have you checked that the Windows Sounds volume is turned up when you have the extrernal sound card plugged in. If you're not sure how to do this, right click on the volume icon in the system tray [bottom right] and select open volume mixer. with the box that pops up it should display all applications that require sound and their volumes. the very first one should be Windows sounds. Just check that is set to full.

  13. Welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help Forums OWLBINMAN, Can you give us some more information about your PC system specifications. I am not the person to answer your question, but until someone comes online that can, the more info you can give the better in most cases :)
  14. Okay, thanks alot for all the help :P It doesnt make any noise when I connect my front speakers to my MP4 player and leave that running for a few hours but as soon as its back in my PC it continues, so I'm guessing it's as nev says with the programs as I always have MSN on :P

  16. No problem, glad we could be of help :P and as Dalo said, any other problems, don't hesitate on coming back and asking!
  17. Ah I see :P I just found that error screen when looking around the site and just thought I should mention it incase it's not ment to be there ;P
  18. I know, I'm still talking about the stats thing :P I'm not sure if you get the error I did up there ^^ when I tried clicking on "view more results" on the top ten stats bar, the little arrow, and then you click the button that says refresh on it, not the browser refresh. Now the button has changed to say "update" :S
  19. you could only view 10 anyway :P on the drop down box next to "refresh" there's only the option for 10 but refresh still gets the same page ;[
  20. I'm still getting the same :(
  21. Just out of interest, I saw the top 10 stats at the bottom and clicked on the option to "view more results" which took me to a blank screen with a refresh button, so I clicked the button thinking it must need refreshing before showing the stats and it took me to a page stating: "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." Just thought I'd pass on the message :P
  22. I take back what I said before :) Dalo has managed to create that PC for less than £800 :P depending on monitor etc, but I am impressed :D! Learn something new everyday =]
  23. £750 is still quite a tight budget for this type of machine, I originally, not too long ago, started off with the budget of £800 when looking to create my new PC, which has the same processor, and the HD4850 instead of the 4870 you are looking at, and the same PSU, as it shown in my signature, and it blasted through my budget of £800 upto about £1000. Here's a link to my thread about building my pc, in which Dalo helped to answer alot of questions I brought up about building a new PC for the first time. I'm sure you've read through it as you stated you've had a look around, but just incase :P
  24. You don't need 2 PCI-E to power a 4850 D; Mine uses one, but yeah, try get a PSU with 2 :P that's the general mistake I made :(
