What you need to do is right click with your mouse on an empty spot oon the desktop.
A drop down menu will appear. Click on arrange desktop icons and then make certain that show desktop icons is checked. This should restore your desktop to normal. Next try the following steps to restore your taskbar.
Press CRTL+ESC.
If the Start menu appears, right-click the Start menu, and then click Properties.
Click the Taskbar tab, clear the Auto-hide the taskbar check box, and then click OK.
If this does not work, it may be that your user account is corrupted. Try logging in as another user. If you are the only user, go to user accounts in your control panel and create a new user administrator account.
