Hi, As I stated before, your present Video Card is PCIe x 16 as is the new one. You will have at least one slot on your m/board. Whichever card you select will need to be PCIe x 16. ( The vast majority are ). Your PSU is 350Watt - if you are upgrading the Video Card you will need to upgrade this too. I would suggest at least 600Watt - you would then have more than enough power if you decided to upgrade again. Did you take a look at this one recommended in my link above. If it is gaming ( I am not a gamer ) then you could do a lot worse than to take a serious look at the link provided. I stop at recommending specific hardware. Hi, Both cards are PCIe x 16 so the new card will be compatible with the motherboard. The new card specs suggest a PSU of 400W minimum. If you don't have this then you may need to upgrade this too. Hi Jacquie and welcome to ExTS. I cannot find too much re. your error message - other than a few links to posts with the same problem - linked to that software. If this is recent try a System Restore. Start > in the run box type ....system restore.. When the box pops up do not use the recommended restore date - choose your own. There will be an option to select more dates - you may need this. Select a date just prior to the start of your problem - certainly not the oldest. Your files/ photos etc will be fine. You will lose any recent downloads / windows updates that were d/l after the selected date. Let us know how you get on with this.

Hi, I have had something like this before. Do you have Outlook Express and Outlook both active? If so - if you are using OE say - take a look in Outlook inbox. I suspect that they are being re-directed.

Are you sure that the USB ports are working ? Have you tried other devices in them ? If all is OK with the ports and when you plug in the wireless adapter you get no response at all - I would suggest that the adapter has died. Try the adapter in another system. New Hardware should be recognised. If not - dead adapter. You could try uninstalling the drivers from device manager then re-install. Start > in the run box type .....devmgmt.msc ....ENTER Click the + next to Network Adapters. Right click on the device > uninstall.

You don't say what you have in the way of a PSU. The new card would probably need about 600Watt PSU - so you may need to consider an upgrade. Hi J-B I was refering to the OS. XP when it was originally released did not recognise 48bit LBA. This was addressed with the release of SP1. It also assumes that the bios is compatible with 48bit LBA. I must correct my previous statement - 128GB should read 137GB :)

Hi and welcome :) If you get anything at all on screen try this: Switch on then start tapping F8 about once per second. You should get the Advanced Startup Menu appear. Select "Last Known Good Configuration". I know you said the keyboard is dead - but it is worth a try. If you are using a USB keyboard try a PS2 ( round plug ) if you can get hold of one. When you switch on - do you get any beeps?

Hi Sarah Jayne, Only follow the rest of these instructions if you are happy to delete all that is on D:\ drive. I cannot find any reference to 8rt34efgfg3hik32l. If you are happy to we can delete D:\ and expand C:\ into the space that is created on the drive - effectively creating one big partition. Go back to DiskManagement. Right Click on D:\ and click on "Delete Volume". You may get a warning - OK this. When the volume has been deleted right click on C:\ There will be an option to "Extend Volume" Click on this. The wizard will tell you the max amount that is possible to gain. OK this. Your C:\ drive should now have grown to twice its original size.

Hi Sarah Jayne and welcome to ExTS Your C:\ drive is most definitely full. At the very minimum there should be 10% free space = 3.2GB I am assuming that D:\ is a partition and you have just one Hard Drive. Start > in the run box type .....diskmgmt.msc ....ENTER You will see a graphic representing your drives. If it shows as Disk 0 and the C:\ and D:\ are on the same row with D:\ showing Healthy (primary partition) you have just one Hard Drive. Is this the case? This could be a recovery files and you don't really want to delete them. Can you discover what this file is by clicking on it?

Could you let us know which Operating System and specifically, which Service Pack ( SP 1 ?? ) you are using. XP for instance, should now be running SP3. Early systems could not recognise above 128GB.

You didn't answer this: Try right clicking > uninstall Reboot. Windows will find "New Hardware" and re-install the drivers.

I think you should be able to click on "Drives" down the left side. Make sure all drive letters have a tick next to them. You will find it in All Programs > Powertoys

You could also try removing the video card and using onboard video -( I think that board has this facility.) Failing that - try swapping the video card for a known good one.
