Hi, Go back into the router settings and you are looking for something like Wireless LAN. You will be broadcasting on a channel. If this is 7 try changing it to 11 or vice-versa. Come out of router settings. Try again wirelessly. ============ With the ethernet cable out: In the bottom right of screen > monitor icon > right click > repair ( should have tried this previously ) Same icon > Connect to a network Can you see yours? Can you connect? You will need the security key if you are running a secure network.

Hi, I am assuming that this is a laptop ?? There is very little that you can try without taking the thing apart. 1. Try taking the battery out and running on just the mains power supply. 2. Disconnct the mains power supply and run on just the battery. 3. Locate the RAM modules. They will be underneath a cover on the base of the machine. Take them out. There will be a small spring on either side that you will need to pull away a little to release the module. Switch on with the RAM out. Do you get the same result? If different - put just one module back and try again. Swap the modules over if necessary. ======================== If not a laptop ... Switch off at the wall ( leave the plug in ) Take the side panel off. Touch the bare metal to discharge static. Remove the RAM as directed above. Post back :)

Mine looks the same as yours :) -
With the ethernet cable connected: Open your internet browser. In the address bar at the top - highlight the address then type 192.168.2.1 then press ENTER This should give you accesss to your router. If this fails try 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 If the password box is empty try just clicking on the submit button. If you are asked for a password it is probably admin. Can you have a look around to see if there is an option to enable / disable the wireless option.

Please see this and my other previous post. Your manual is here: http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/p75451_f5d8053.pdf See p8 onwards for installation. Also it says: At the time of initial release of this product, Windows Vista drivers were not available for release and might not be included on the CD shipped with your product Did you have the correct drivers on the CD ?
-
I don't think you need to. The prtSc key will do the job by itself. You would only need the Fn key if PrtSc was in blue. Did you follow this process ? Belkin : Support : Installing your wireless Cardbus or USB network card in Windows Vista Are you saying that after you used the installation disk - there is nothing showing in Device Manager when the Belkin adapter is put in the USB port ? Does Windows detect new hardware when you put the adapter into the USB port ?

Hi, Open an account with Photobucket. Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket Open Device Manager and click the > next to Network adapters Press PrtSc ( print Screen key ) Open Paint. ( Start > Accessories ) Paste the screen copy ......CTRL + V Save As ........give it a name and a location that you will be able to find (make sure you save it with a .jpg extension) Go back to Photobucket. Click on the Upload Now button Click on Select Photos and Videos Locate your saved file. Highlight it > Open When upload is complete click on "Save and continue to my album" Highlight the Pic then from the box that appears below select "IMG Code" It will say "copied" Paste the IMG Code into your next post. It looks like a long process but it is easy enough.

If you don't want to give my previous suggestion a try - I suggest that you look at one of these: Best Value Wireless 802.11n USB Adaptor 300Mbps (GN-621U) - dabs.com Unless somebody else has any ideas ????
-
Try the following: Go to Device Manager ( Start > type ......devmgmt.msc ......) Click the > next to Network Adapters Right click on the WiFi adapter > Uninstall. If you have more than one WiFi adapter showing uninstall all. Do not uninstall the NIC. Shut down and re-boot. Windows should recognise new hardware ( your wireless adapter ) Let me know what it is picking up ( if anything ).

Hi, I am a bit confused. Take a look here: Software & Driver Downloads HP G7000 CTO Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English) Is this your machine? Click the + next to Network There are 2 Wireless drivers listed - but not atheros ar5007
-
Have you tried re-installing the drivers for the atheros ar5007 ? Can I ask why you are using an adapter when, according to the specs for your computer, you have wirless built in ?

I have just re-read the thread .....I should have suggested this earlier ... Start > Run .....type in ......cmd ( do not hit ENTER ) Right click on cmd.exe at the top of the box Click on Run as Administrator At the command prompt ... type in ..... netsh winsock reset .... > ......ENTER You will need to restart. Try internet now.
-
Hi, Try this: Start ....type in ....regedit ....ENTER Click the > next to the following... [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE] > System > CurrentControlSet > Services .....click on .... ndisuio You will see a list in the right pane. Double click on "Start" Mine is set to 3 - if you have any other setting try changing to 3. Restart. If that doesn't work .... Change Start to 2 Restart

This could be M/B died as Bugsy has implied. You say that you have taken the RAM modules out and replaced. Try them one at a time. Try taking the battery out and running on mains adapter only. or Try running on battery only. Get a can of compressed air and give the inside a few blasts through the vents. It could possibly be a build-up of dust.

I can't replicate what you describe. If I understand it - you open Internet Explorer ( It is IE ? ) and the home page opens full screen. You then open a web-page and this opens smaller - but you can't expand it. Is this correct? Take a look here: Windows XP Your Way: Tips for Configuring and Using Internet Explorer It states XP - but it should still be relevant. It may help. -
I think this is linked with a mobile phone - does this make any sense to you ? Take a look here: How do I start the Wireless/WLAN Zero Configuration? We have done some of this - but you need to do the "Wired Auto Config" instructions. Follow the full instructions.

Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help There are various fixes for this .... Try this one. Open a web page and locate the corners with the screen curser. The normal arrow will change to a double one. Hold the left mouse button down and drag each corner to fill the screen. Once you have done this hold the CTRL key down and close the window using the red X (top right ) Do not open anything when resizing. -
Hi, Some laptops have a switch - either on the front edge of the case or on a panel at the back of the keyboard - to turn on the wireless option. Does yours ? And is it on ? If you right click the monitor icon ( bottom right of screen ) and select "Connect to a Network" can you see yours ? Start > Run ....type in ....devmgmt.msc ....ENTER Click the + next to Network Adapters Are there any yellow exclamation marks ? Is there a WiFi adapter listed ?

Correction....... ref to 4GB RAM is for Vista 32 bit ..........you have Win7.

Hi, You have a PCIe x16 .... Take a look here: Best PCIe Card: $100 To $170 : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: November 2010 The site has a range of cards reviewed - it depends on what you want to pay. You may need to upgrade your Power Supply Unit. This would depend on what you have already and which card you select. Your RAM ( 4GB ) would seem to be fine - again it depends on what you want to do. In a 32 bit system you have the max. If you can supply a little more information about your PSU and what you want to use the system for - we may be able to offer a little more advice.
