  1. Bob, I am sure Pete's suggestion that the path you need is when you have opened "Snapseed" Open it up and see if there is a "Settings" in the Toolbar or in "Files" if this exists. [ I don't use Snapseed. ] It seems to make sense that any restrictions would be made from the software itself and not from Windows.
  2. The bad guys have come a long way in a relatively short space of time. It is a pity they don't put their expertise to good use !!
  3. Thanks for posting the solution - this will, no doubt, help others :)
  4. Cheers Pete - I seem to be ok ......so far :)
  5. Hi joddle, Good to hear that your machines are behaving themselves again. M$oft must have issued a corrective update. Thanks for the feedback :)
  6. I understand now. Plug your USB Drive in. Once in DOS type the following at the prompt: wmic logicaldisk get name .....hit return. You will get a list of drive letters - Make a note of the one that is your USB Drive. [ It will not be C: or D: ] Now create a folder on the USB Drive for the files you are going to copy. At the DOS prompt type in ...... md X:\Backup .....hit Enter ......where X: is the letter of the USB Drive. - and Backup is the name of the new folder. There is a space after md Now to copy the files and folders. At the prompt type in : xcopy D:\pictures & videos X:\backup /s /i space after copy - space after videos - space after backup - space after /s If pictures & videos has spaces you may need to put in quotes .... xcopy "D:\pictures & videos" X:\backup /s /i This should work. I have just tried it. The path to pictures & videos must be correct - i.e. when you access D: the folder pictures & videos is showing and is not inside another folder.
  7. If you right click on the folder > Properties it will tell you there what the Size of the folder contents is. If it is less than the available space on your USB Drive you are good to go. Plug in the USB Drive and click on it to open [ so that you can see the contents of the drive ] If necessary - click on the little square next to the X [ top right corner of screen ] to shrink it so that you can see the screen behind it. Now go to D: so that you can see the folder you want to copy [ do not open it ] You may need to shrink this screen as you did with the USB Drive You need to be able to see both screens. Now left click and hold down the button on the folder you want to copy. Still holding down the mouse button drag the folder across to the USB Drive The icon should say "Copy" and / or a + will appear. You can then let go of the left mouse button. The folder will be copied to the new location. Alternatively - you can right click on the folder > click on "Copy" Then open the USB Drive > right click on a blank space > Paste This will copy the folder to the new location. Hope this helps.
  8. It could be - but this is usually very expensive. :(
  9. Two AVs on your machine is not a good option. They will often conflict. In this case less is more. I suggest you remove SafeBytes if you are happy with Defender. If you have further comment on this could you start a new thread please as PEV needs control of his thread :)
  10. Hi, Starbuck posted the following : F-Fox will try to keep passwords etc ....there are no guarantees. F-Fox passwords are stored in a database [called Key3] or a file named "Logins.json" If you were concerned you could copy these two files - they are located .... Windows Key + R Type in .... %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ ...hit Return Click on the folder that has "default" after it. Locate the files > right click > copy Paste them into a folder on your Desktop or somewhere easy to locate if necessary. If there is a problem you should be able to copy the files back to the original location. You will not be able to access the files - not without specific software. I suggest that you write out the passwords if you can remember them ....just in case.
  11. Ah - ok :) My comment re: not connecting the drive still holds ....it does sound like a direct short in the circuitry somewhere. :(
  12. Hi and welcome to ExTS Check that all fans are working and are rotating at speed. If they are - then check that the fan connectors are located in the correct sockets on the motherboard. It could be that the MB expects them in specific sockets - if you have them wrongly connected the system may not detect a fan ( even if it is working ).....hence the warning LED. You may need to refer to the motherboard manual.
  13. I assume that the drive is the smaller 2.5 inch ? Not good. Have you checked that the USB port is still working? I certainly wouldn't attempt to access that drive again - it sounds as if something is shorting out.
  14. Let me know how it goes Kev :) John - can you start a new thread please - it is far easier that way :)
  15. No problem Kev - get back to me when you can :)
  16. Hi Try the "Reset" option. Also - download FireFox and try this. click here Having two browsers on the system is useful at times. Also: Take a look here - click here Under the "Servers" tab .....there is an option to "remember password" ....make sure this is checked. I know this is an old version but yours should be similar.
  17. Hi Ian Open Chrome ....top right there are three horizontal bars .... click on this > Settings Scroll down to the bottom > Show Advanced Settings Scroll down to Privacy > click on Content Settings Cookies / Images / Javascript should all be set to "recommended" ( the first option ) There is a "Reset" option that will reset all to defaults - you may wish to try this if the above doesn't fix it for you. This is at the bottom of the page.
  18. Hi Kev How did it go with the second router ?
  19. Hi joddle, Good to hear that you managed to fix it yourself :)
  20. Hi Ian and welcome to ExTS :) Can you let us know which browser ( Chrome / FireFox / Edge ) you are using please ? Do you know if you have it set to delete cookies at the end of a session ? If you have to log into sites like this every time ( system does not remember your details ) it could be as I suggest above.
  21. Hi Kev Thanks for the log. There doesn't seem to be anything untoward here. [There is no Wireless LAN Adapter showing .....if it is available it should be there .....but this will not affect your ability to connect ] All pings were completed Tracert completed =============== Your connection speed is good - both download and upload =============== Starbuck suggested using a different browser ... Please try this. It would be a good idea to download FireFox or Chrome if you don't have them already. It is fine to have 2 or 3 different browser options. =============== Let us know which browser you are using - it could be a corrupt cookie.
  22. Kev In my signature at the bottom is "Wireless Test" "Network Test" If you are connected Wireless use this one - cable use "Network" Click on this - It will take a little time ...then open a log in "Notepad" Copy this log and post it here please. It may show something useful :)
  23. I assume that this is the reading from home via the router ? :)
  24. Hi Kev When I started reading your last post I thought ...."router" ..... Swap it over and try the spare. No harm done and if there is no change at least you can rule this out :) Run a Speed Test from here: http://www.speedtest.net/ Let me know the download speed How does this compare with what you should be getting ?
