Hi
This could be caused by malware if it infected one of the windows system files.
I will move this thread to the malware section first to let our expert look at your system.
Please do the following:
Please download the latest version of HijackThis from Trend Micro and save it to your desktop.
Download HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install HijackThis.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in Notepad. Include this log in your next reply.
Notes:
Do not use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
Do not have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless, or required for your computer to run like it should.

Hi
If it was me i would get a new socket 1156 motherboard (Asus or Gigabyte) and get the new Intel Core i5 750 and also a Nvidia GTX260 or 275 graphics card.
This is my choice because i am a fan of Intel and Nvidia, but the ATI graphics cards are also good. I just think that the Intel processors is much better at this stage than AMD.
Hi
Go to this website : RAM Memory Upgrade: Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq. USB drives, flash cards, SSD at Crucial.com
Let it scan your pc to see what is the maximum ram it can take.
Hi
This looks like a driver issue. You should be able to boot into safe mode and try updating your drivers from there.
Have you installed any new drivers recently?
Hi
That graphics card is PCI Express, so just make sure you have an open PCI Express 16X slot on your motherboard.
If you are unsure, give us the model no and name of the motherboard.
Hi
Is it this one : HP xw6000 - PC Desktops - Shopping.com
If yes, then you can only put in an AGP graphics card, and i think the 9600GT uses PCI express, so you won't be able to fit it.
