Just to add:
Can you start in safe mode? (pressing f8 on startup)
You might need to do a disk check on the drive. (if you have a boot disk or by putting the drive in another pc)

Could you tell us the error message of the blue screen as they all have different meanings and in most cases it is hardware(RAM or HDD) related.

When you delete an e-mail from the "inbox" it goes to the "deleted" folder.
You can then delete it from the "deleted" folder to permantly remove the e-mail.
