It will not boot up. If i let it boot to windows, it gets to the intial win 7 banner, then restarts and goes to Launch Startup repair. Once I select repair, it loads files then hangs up on a dark screen with a white mouse pointer. The mouse is moveable but the screen is just blank with nothing to click on. I tried a recovery disk, it does the same thing. Also once on the blank screen, normal shut down or restart options do not work, I have to unplug power and battery to shut down. View this thread

Started experiencing a black screen flicker after the Win7 auto updates published March 12, 2013. Occurs every 5-6 minutes and generates above error message in event viewer. I have 4 updates that Windows Update wont install. I have run the system update readiness tool several times but the issue persists. I have run the windows update troubleshooters. I have Installed service pack 1 for windows 7 ultimate and after doing an update check I know have the options for Installing 35 language updates every time I log on to Win updates, very annoying when I don't require them. My laptop was running very strangely yesterday so I powered it off and to my surprised, it shows it is running update 11 of 11 and do not power it off. It has been running or has shown this message since 5PM yesterday and it still on my screen. I have no way of telling what it is doing. The mail, store, calendar and etc. tiles do not work. I have checked the resolution and my computer reads 1366 x 768 and when I go to control panel I have no MORE Settings nor do I have User Account and Family Safety to click on. I also have this problem with WORD 2010, Excel 2010 and Microsoft Outlook 2010. I get this exact message when trying to print ("The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable") I have tried to use "HP Support Assistant" and have just today updated windows with all currently available updates. Why at this time is there still no fix from Microsoft? This seems unbelievable given how long this problem has been going on. Is there a Service Pack that I'm not aware of? Windows does an automatic update. Says windows updating 1 of 4 but stays updating won't stop. I have to unplug and take out battery to get it to stop. I have let it update for 24 hours and it still didn't stop until I unplugged and took out battery. Wondering whats wrong. View this thread

Since windows update ran a couple of days ago (this update inc ie10), I cannot run anything no application will run. reports the following missing files. api-ms-win-downlevel-user32-l1-1-0.dll api-ms-win-downlevel-ole32-l1-1-0.dll wininet.dll I have tried restore but this wont work as it says AV is running but i cant shut that down due to missing file errors when i try to run it. sfc /scannow reports no errors win7 disc repair reports that a camera or device is plugged in and wont repair when nothig is plugged in. cant run ms fix it as reports out the missing file error.
