HI I have a problem with Fortissl vpn client after updates ran on a user notebook. The client connects and then disconnects from the firewall. In the firewall logs it looks like it's client side that drops the connection. Anybody have a solution? Regards View this thread

After about of month of not using it at all, I turned on my Windows RT tablet and saw there were a lot of updates I had to apply. I clicked OK and Windows started downloading the updates. Afterward, I was prompted to restart right away or wait 4 min. I clicked cancel, then it restarted automatically after a few moments. After the tablet restarted, it began applying the updates. Finally, I was able to access the login screen and I logged in. However, when I went to Desktop, then Windows Update, I was informed that the update failed. When I go to the history, I see several of them failed, plus many of them are "pending restart". I have restarted several times (Settings > Power > Restart), and the problem still persists. I have 10Gb of free space, so that cannot be the issue. My Internet connection works very well too On top of that, it now stays forever on "Checking for updates". My Windows 7 HP laptop freezes whenever I try to install certain updates. I've tried using the FixIt wizard, but the problem still occurs. I can't shut down my computer without it trying to install the updates, which in turn causes it to freeze, in which I have to hard reboot it. From what I can tell, some of the updates that may be causing the freezes are security updates, but I'm unsure why exactly they would cause my computer to freeze. The updates in question are: -Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2736428) -Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2742595) -Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2789642) -Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2799494) There are three other updates labeled as "important", along with the security updates. I'm not sure if these could also be causing the freezes. These other updates are: -Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems -Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2791765) -Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - March 2013 (KB890830) Any ideas or help would be majorly appreciated. -Austin B. Hi Guru's, Been running Win7 Enterprise x64/SP1 (clean RAID1 install) for over a year now but around start of March 2013, the optional Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838) seems to have screwed up my Windows Update (error Code 80070BC9 & I have confirmed this update has not actually been installed). Although I have hidden this update & Microsoft Essentials itself updates without any issues & FULL scan finds no issues, I am no longer able to get any automatic updates. Even after using the MS 'Fix It' utility which seems to detect & repair problems and following the instructions provided in the "Ren %systemroot%system32catroot2 *.bak[/b] -> no permissions were allowed to rename file even after I changed its owner R/W properties 2. When I tried to Reregister the following BITS and Windows Update files, I got the following popup error message:-> module "xxxxxx.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DIIRregisterServer was not found. Make sure that "xxxxx.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.where xxxxx was mshtml, shdocvw, browseui, msxml, gpkcsp, sccbase, slbcsp, initpki, wuaueng1, wucltui, wuweb, qmgr and muweb 3. C:WindowsSystem32>netsh reset winsockThe following command was not found: reset winsock. So I'm not sure if these commands are out of date or I have some other sinister issues with my registery as this might explain why I am unable to reset my Windows Update components? My objective was to add Hyper V , To do that I upgraded OEM windows 8 to Windows Pro which was very quick. Then I tried to add Hyper - v through feature install. My laptop display 100% install then immediate failure of install. I also tryied to Refresh my Laptop, When I tried it via windows 8 DVD, I get message that drive is locked. When I tried via charms - Settings, It simply refuses to refresh without any error message. Anybody has any suggestions? Thanks. View this thread

This security update failed to install, and now my computers actin funny. I clicked on "get help" from "view history" in windows update and tried to download a fix it troubleshooter, which it wouldn't do. And I just had trouble when trying to sign into this support site. I don't think my comps ever actin this weird before. can you help me download this update? View this thread

Almost every time an Automatic Update is downloaded and requires a restart after installation, The Security Center warns that the MSE is turned off yet opening MSE indicates the computer is protected and can be updated manually. Also sometimes the MSE icon is missing from the task bar. Occasionly updating MSE and running a quick scan resolves the problem, but not always. Once I had to remove and re-install MSE to resolve the problem. This is a major pain in the a** if every Windows update will require this. Help!! IE version 8.0.6001.18702, Windows XP Home edition version 2002 SP3. I have automatic updates on and it keeps trying to install the update. I have run the auto fix online it says it fixes it, but, still won't work. I have looked at the msinfo32.exe but there was no update for xp. okay so apparently there was a recent update for windows 7. well my laptop restarted for this update but when i booted it up again it wouldnt get past the windows is starting screen. i have tried everything possible to fix this with zero results. i went to the advanced options using f8 and tried everything there. when i attempted a system restore i got an error messgae saying it couldnt be completed. when i did the start up repair it said it was looking for errors on my drive and that it would take over an hour. 2 and half hours later it was still at that screen. my last opeion was to run in safe mode with networking. as soon as i logged in i got stuck at the welcome screen. i really dont know what else to do and i cant afford to reinstall windows 7 because i have files on there that i need for school and work. Fatal error c0190003 applying update operation 207 of 103182 (_00000...) My windows 7 computer told me there was an update so i restarted my computer to get it but it wont let me log on because this pops up^ I dont get any options to go in any safe modes like that.
