I have had the computer for a few years and never had any problems until recently. I have reinstalled Microsoft office several times and have attempted numerous fixes offered online but nothing has worked. HELP PLEASE View this thread

Outlook just showed up. I don't like it. My biggest problem is when I "forward" emails, I get only a short list of frequently used names and not my full list. I type in "all contacts" and it reverts back to frequent contacts. Also, I type nearly a word faster than the letters show up on the screen - this never happened before. Thank you for reducing my frustration - I am not a technical person and am really upset. I called on the phone and was told there was not phone support and I would have to figure this out for myself! troubleshoot windows vista kb915597 definition 1.143.2336.0 As stated in the above question, this update auto installed on 2/15/2013 at 1:39am and lists as un-removable. I believe this is my offending update as there were several updates that auto installed on 2/14/2013 as well. They may be the culpret as well but I doubt it, however, my belief is that this is the offending update in that my TiVo has transferred information recorded prior to 2/16/2013 but not after. If the offending update were amongst the multiple updated auto installed on 2/14/2013 them information recorded on the TiVo afterwards on 2/15/2013 would not have transferred. I need a solution to this offending dilema before I run out of storage memory on my TiVo. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thank You. View this thread

Would upgrading to Windows 8 solve the problems of, repeated updates problems encountered in windows 7? For example Security Update for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 on XP, Server2003, Vista, Windows7, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB 2600217) and Security Update for Microsoft.Net Framework 4 on XP, Server2003, Vista, Windows7, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB 2656351), which keep telling me were installed successfully, but then tell me they are ready for install the next time I boot up my PC. Since I installed a new Windows update a few days ago, the Desktop Window Manager quits working and is closed down every few minutes. It's very annoying. The message I get says that a problem caused the application to shut down and that as soon as a fix is available, I will be notified. Because this problem didn't start appearing until just after the update, I feel that the update caused the problem. Because this is very annoying, is there anything I can do to fis the problem, or is waiting for a fix the only option available to me? View this thread

I've read that the Update KB2670838 is causing wide spread problems. I've uninstalled this and reinstalled this. I've done a system restore. My Aero was working fine for over a year. But I have more problems as well. When I try to get Aero to work it shuts off my personalized sounds and screen saver and resets them to the windows Default. I change my screen saver back click on my Saved Aero Theme and it again turns off my screen saver and resets my sounds. I took the machine back to the company that built it. They reinstalled Windows 7. It worked fine for a few days. I installed a few programs and now it's right back to doing the same thing. I installed Google Earth and Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 and Screen capture Codec. Could these be causing the problems? View this thread

Signed off last nigh and let the computer update 5 filestoday - EVERYTHING is VERY slow to load. I run an SSD for my boot and programs drive,,, and it is noticeably slow on the uptake. HP All-in-one with Windows 8 used for less than a week. I got the blue screen/sad face noting SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION error requiring restart. I restarted and once back on the desktop, received a juscheck.exe/Oracle America run request to install a new Java update. Received the same error again. I think that's the root of the problem, but wasn't sure how to notify Microsoft. View this thread

Hello Microsoft and everyone, I am the proud owner of a 64GB Microsoft Surface RT with Touch Cover and I love the device. This is my first Windows 8 machine and I am very much enjoying it in this form factor. My one gripe with it has more to do with how Windows 8 handles autocorrect for non-traditional keyboards such as the Touch Cover and the On-Screen keyboard. However, I think this could be easily rectified with a small OS update. While the touch cover is a good idea and certainly better than the on-screen keyboard, I find that the typing experience on mobile Windows 8 devices would benefit greatly from the kind of Autocorrect system seen on Windows Phone. A Full Autocorrect system that applies OS wide and not just limited to specific applications such as Microsoft Word. One that treats the keyboard input like how a mobile device does rather than a desktop/laptop. As a student using my Surface RT mostly for note taking in class and for word processing, I find that I am constantly having to go back to correct little typos that would have been automatically corrected on my Windows Phone. A dropped letter here, a mistake there, an accidental press of "n" instead of "space". Granted, some of these mistakes are on my part. I believe the experience of Windows 8 on my Surface with Touch Cover would be greatly improved by autocorrecting my mistakes much like it does on my Windows Phone. Let me clearly state that I do not think this is a hardware issue. I think this is an issue of reasonable human error in combination with new devices designed for mobile use. I believe these inconveniences can be rectified by non-intrusive software improvements on Windows 8/RT. Suggestions for Implementation: The default for Windows 8 should remain as it is. Many people using computers would not like their typing to be autocorrected by default (myself included). But, since Windows 8 was designed with mobile and touch devices in mind, it would be great if there was an option to turn on this Windows Phone style Autocorrect through the keyboard menu. Here are some suggestions for how it can be implemented. 1) Through the onscreen keyboard styles selection menu. (the menu where you can select a full keyboard, or the one set up for thumbs.) 2) Toggle through "WINKEY + SPACE" as it currently is for languages. These options allow the settings to be changed on the fly and minimizes confusion for current users who may not be in need of Autocorrect for their current device. -------------- Questions: Would this be possible? Is this already in the works for the future? Do others think that this would be a good idea? I think that it would not be a hindrance to any users who do not have a current need for Full Mobile Autocorrect. On the other hand, it would be of great benefit to those on the newer forms of PCs and modern Tablets. Other suggestions for implementation are welcome. I just want to get the idea out there. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. If this were to be implemented, I would have the perfect device for my mobile needs. Thanks! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Computer Experts. Vista Home Premium 64-bit. 9 months of update failures . Windows defender seems to update itself but automatic updates always reject with error 80070490. I am using windows xp home basic sp1 on an old computer. It is genuine and i have the key. Windows sites don't open .Iwanted to upgrade to sp3 .It has no cd/dvd drives or usb and floppy. I don't want to buy a new one. {service packs are free}. The windows does not activate. oobe/msoobe/a does not open . I downloaded xp sp3 by torrent but cannot transfer it on any external memory. i am helpless.
