I have Bitdefender which keeps finding this file and says, "Bitdefender could not clean this virus. Your computer is not virus free." I have also run Microsoft's security defender using the long/full version and it does not even find the virus. I always keep the computer up to date. I own a Toshiba Satellite P755. Last week my Security Center showed all three components as "Off": Firewall, Automatic Updates, and Virus Protection. None would update or run, and the only message was that my XP 2011 Protection had expired, and I needed to update. The only solution offered under Recommendations was XP 2011 Security, available for one year at $69.99, or Lifetime protection for $79,99. I tried to bypass and find other solutions,but everything was blocked. I purchased the "XP 2011" protection, everything updated shortly, and for several days the Microsoft Security Center showed everything as protected, and no updates available or necessary. Today, my computer would not function, the Security Center is marked "Off" in all categories, and computer functioning is worse than ever. I contacted "XP 2011", or "metasecurity.com", or "lumere.com", and requested the refund that was "guaranteed if requested within 30 days." None of the website customer support addresses are functioning, and I have no idea if my message has gotten through. I am trying to get my Microsoft Security Center functioning again. Any ideas? I don't know why Microsoft Security Essentials would allow a program like this to interfere with its functioning, when I was updating and monitoring my Security Center regularly, and everything was up-to-date. Pop up keeps coming up with a download / run request. Usually stating that a video is not supported. Sometimes another type ad or something is there. I have increased MS popup protection, run scans by MS Security Essentials and Avast but have not been able to find it. View this thread

Every time I my laptop installs the December updates, it'll restart but then it'll go to the start up screen and it is that "Windows was unable to start up" and then I get the choices to try start up normally (which never works) and then to Start up Windows repair, then I have to do a system restore. I have to do a System Restore almost every day and sometimes twice in one day. I really need help with this. I've never had this problem before. View this thread

Windows 8 compatibility toolo indicates that my xp bios may not have NX or NX is not turned on (which I doubt). Install of win 8 will apparently try to turn it on NX..... if this does fail which I'm not optomistic then an upgrade from xp to win 7 wouldn't be bad, considering the support will be longer and another win 8 computer that I have will comunicate with the currnt xp better (skydrive sync)... Just don't know if the hassle in time and if it going to more than the $40 win 8 upgrade --- is worth it. Thanks for any insight and comments. View this thread

Hi. After a windows update, system asked to reboot the computer. After that reboot, it stuck at Windows 8 welcome screen, with the cursor keep spinning. I tried to reset my system, and same thing happened. How to solve this ?? View this thread

I have Win 7 (pre-installed on alienware). I use Norton security suite. I have tried twice to download and install some windows updates, each time having to do a system restore to before the date. Each time attempted I have lost internet connectivity. My Wi-Fi notices my SSID, says it has full strength, but will not connect.
