Hi can somebody help me to get rid of this VISTA ANTIVIRUS PRO 2013 ? Yaayy!! . I have tried what they suggested on this website and from some others but I just can't do it , I cannot even install MSE on Safe Mode because of the blockage and because it is on safe mode so I guess I am stuck. It appears that I am running both of the above on Win. XP SP3. In Widows task Manager under Processes Defender seems to be MsMpEng.exe and has 32994k memory usage and msseces.exe is Microsoft Security Essentials. Defender is not shown in the Add and Remove programs. According to the Community I do not need Defender. How do I disable it? View this thread

I have Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail. My mother has Windows Vista and Windows Mail. She scanned a document and saved it as a pdf. She tried to send it to me as an attachment to an e-mail. The attachment arrived, Expert PDF Reader opened it, but it was blank. I tried to research why it was blank and informed that my security settings kept some attachments from opening as a security measure. I have still problems with Windows Updates for Windows 8 Pro. I had never found Background Intelligient Transfer Service for Automatically check and resolving. I had tried to installing 10 important updates for Windows 8. I have no any BITS in my old computer. I think my computer is old and I have old Windows Vista operating system. I used Windows 8 (32bit) upgrade disc to upgraded my computer. Windows Updates is not working installing any time. the dislog screen said Windows Updates must be repairs. I had searched the BITS but I surprise that there is no Computer Management and BITS too. I was unhappy with Windows Updates ways. Please help me and help me. Upgraded my PC from Windows XP to Windows 8. It has a Sound Blaster Live sound card installed. All portions including Game Port worked GREAT with Windows XP. Sound is good with Windows 8 but Creative Game Port want function because I can't find a separate driver for it. I would think since this is 1 sound card and not 2 separate devices that 1 driver would fix all portions. Any suggestions on a fix. Can't seem to find any thing on the web. View this thread

As of the last four or five days I've been getting a flag saying cannot install updates. Error 8024402F. Nothing I've tried will fix it so far. The windows Update screen tells me there have never been any updates to my computer which is clearly nonsense as this is a three year old Toshiba Tecra with OEM Windows 7 Professional. I've tried installing Explorer 9 as on some blog it was highlighted as a missing Active X component that needed MS Explorer but neither that or any of the other fix it sub routines seem to have any effect. Im trying to set up a wi-fi router and it would not let me to the Ciscoconnect software coz they need me to update my windows vista service pack 1. i use windows 8 pro... there are many updates which require a restart to finish installation... these are already downloaded and every time system restarts, windows takes 15 minutes to install those updates and configures till 98%,.. later i get a message saying 'failure configuring updates' and it reverts changes... i lose at-least another 45 minutes... really fed up... does anyone have a solution to this problem? I made a booboo. Win 7, 64 Bit sys with, IE 10 release Preview, and service for 5. Will the wrong service pack 1 do frightening things inside of my poor PC? I can not install .Net 3.5 on my windows 8 pro. I have tried to go through: 1. Enable windows features 2. Windows Update when I try to install an application that requires 3.5 3. The full .Net 3.5 installer package And yes I have checked my internet connection. Just upgraded my Dell Inspiron (4 months old) to Win 8 Pro. I wanted to take advantage of the free Media Pack upgrade, but am unable to do so because there are 4 updates that refuse to work: KB2770041 KB2768703 KB2769165 KB2770917 In looking at other posts, I see that this is not an uncommon problem. I have tried installing the individual components to these updates, and they all fail as well. I tried the approach of using msconfig to disable all the non-MS services first (and rebooting, of course), but that didn't work. Having spent a good 4 hours trying, I am simply giving up and am hoping to get feedback from Microsoft about how to make this happen. Anyone have any other suggestions? View this thread

I just did an upgrade on my Toshiba from 7 to 8 and now I can't do the upgrades that have been downloaded. Has Microsoft created a utility to take care of this. I have all the files mentioned in another post in the windows/servicing/packages subdirectory but don't feel like messing thing up even more by trying to delete them. Going back to 7 seems like the best solution at this time. An easy to understand solution would be nice. View this thread
