I have just installed the latest version of Windows Live Messenger on 4-30-2013. I already had the one that was connected to Skype but I guess this is supposed to be better. After installing the update I get an error message from Skype saying "Skype Home is unavailable at the moment. Check back later to see your news and alerts." And now the Windows Live Messenger icon that used to appear in the Taskbar is not showing up at all. So I figured I would open up Bing and click on the Messenger icon there on the Bing Bar. After correctly signing in to Windows Live I get yeat ANOTHER error message saying "We can't sign you in because the network isn't available. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet and try again." After this update to Windows Live Messenger Skype doesn't work properly anymore, Windows Messenger will not start, and I cannot sign into Windows Live through BING because it thinks that I am not connected to the internet! What kind of update is that? Is there anyway to reverse this absolutely horrible disaster that this update has caused? Everything was totally fine until the update. And how does that update effect Windows Messenger, BING, adn Skype all at once? View this thread

Windows update fails to install KB2817183 & reports error code 8007371C on a hp notebook running VISTA 64 bit OS. Ongoing and remains the only update that won't install for the past weeks. Ran MS Fixit KB971058 solutions found in MS forums, KB947821 checksur didn't help, nor KB936212 SFC checker. We had a power outage and after it was reistalled the computer did an update in Security Essentials, but now the error code window keeps popping up everytime I log in! How can I fix this? In trying to get Google Earth to work (again) I have been uninstalling certain things. I uninstalled security essentials via add / remove programs. Now, on booting it says it won't open that. No surprise, since I thought I deleted it. But when I go to MS to try to re-install, it says it's already installed, so must first uninstall. So I go back in to first uninstall, again, it says can't find files to uninstall. Thus it's apparently corrupted. So how can I get rid of corrupted version, so I can re-install? Every time I let my computer do its update, my printer stops working and it wont let me reinstall it. Then I did a restore and downloaded the newest full version driver for the printer, but even after that if I let my computer run through updates the same thing happens and I can't print. My computer has done some automatic Windows updates, one this morning, and one 2 weeks ago. After the updates are downloaded, I cannot open any page on Internet Explorer. I contacted my warranty service and they had me to scrap my whole system so I'M trying to install my Office ( that was a gift from my Uncle , He still has the reciet) back on ?
