i'm trying to install google voice & video chat on my laptop running Vista home premium. i have downloaded the plugin from the google site. however, when i run the installer - it gives a "FATAL ERROR" 1603 message. would request a solution thanx View this thread

Hello, after a recent virus infection, which has been removed, the Windows firewall service is unable to start(service specific error code 5). A virus and malware scan has been done. BFE has been given the right permissions and is working. MpsSvc also has the right permissions, but isn't working. Every thread/solution I tried, said I had to fix the BFE service permission and the registry permissions of several services, which I all did, and all are working except for MpsSvc. I hope someone can help me out, and if anyone has any questions please let me know. View this thread

Hi there,I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) Service Pack 1.IE9 is already installed: Version 9.0.8112.16421. Update versions 9.0.4 (KB2618444)Whenever I run Windows Update, it offers me:"Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems". (36.7MB)I am also offered:"Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" (69.1MB)If I try to install IE9, it fails, with the error: Code 9C48: Windows Update encountered an unknown error.If I try to install IE10 instead, it also fails, with the error: Code 9C59: Windows Update encountered an unknown error.I have tried running SFC /scannow, but it finds no errors that it believes need to be corrected.I have cleaned and optimised the registry, removed internet cache, ran malware scans and anti virus scans.I have also tried uninstalling IE9 via the uninstall method through the control panel -> programs and featured -> installed updates, but it fails, saying: Windows Update: An Error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled.I have tried uninstalling IE9 using Microsoft Fix it from the "How to uninstall IE( when the standard method does not work" link, but that fails also.I have also tried to uninstall IE9 using the FORFILES method, from the same link, but that fails on certain modules and upon reboot, I have also tried stopping windows update service, renaming the downloads folder, restarting the windows update and trying again, but to no avail.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Regards, View this thread

So 1 year ago I got a virus it said "your a fat ****" "fat ****" it opened 100 Google chromes I shut down my computer and it was fine now just 2 days ago I got an error the top said "your ****" and it said "Rats Realeased"! A few days ago I noticed small pop-up ads & full-screen ads appearing while using Internet Explorer. Some of the time I'm able to "x" out of the page but other times I have to close down Internet Explorer & start over. I've seen the name "sweetpacks.com" appear on the tab name. I think this may be a virus. Currently, I'm running Microsoft Security Essentials as my anti-virus software with live updates. I checked that page & it does not show any viruses as being detected. I thought I downloaded a few net frameworks before I got to net framework 4 client profile for Xp Pro X86, but when I look in add and remove programs there are no net frameworks listed. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on a 64-bit laptop. Among the software loaded on the machine is MS Word 2010. My computer is set to automatically download Windows updates which then require rebooting to fully install. The March updates have crashed my computer four times, requiring rebuilding restoration of the system each time from a point in time prior to the downloading of the updates. On the fourth rebuild, my Google Chrome browser's data files were damaged and it had to be re-installed.The downloaded files still exist on my computer. Windows repeatedly says it will shut down in 14 minutes to complete the installs. And I keep delaying the action every four hours. Can someone identify the files that I need to delete to keep my computer from crashing as it goes through another update installation reboot? View this thread

I went into control panel and turned off every option possible about windows update yet my computer is still updating and there is no way once to update to tell it to update later instead it says save what you are doing because we are going to update your computer. This is VERY annoying because i use my computer at all hours of the day and don't want windows telling me when to update my computer by turning my computer off and forcing me to update. is there any way to turn off this option because if there is not any way to turn off windows update i'm going to have to switch to an OS that has a little more freedom then this OS.
