I recently formatted a WD external hard drive through my vista laptop. I downloaded several megs of files onto this hard drive. My Vista laptop crashed and I need a new hard drive. I am trying to access these files through my XP laptop. I see the DRIVE - "D". However, when I try to access the drive it comes up with "the disk in drive d is not formatted" Do you want to format it now? View this thread

Windows Defender program is off. Accessed file through search however clicking program link did not open. Windows Defender icon in Conrtol panel does not open to reset. My daughter has a Epson NX625 and we want to scan multiple pages into one file. I have downloaded every possible download they offer on their support site and we still cannot do this. I have spent so much time trying to figure this out and am getting very frustrated and cannot help but think that the Epson nx625 is worthless. Please, can someone help me figure this out? Hi, I just purchased and installed Office 2013 Home and Student. But after installation, I can't find any way to launch the program. There is no shortcut in either the start screen or the desktop, and typing winword into the Run dialog doesn't work. The program shows up in Programs and Features, but like I said, I can't find anyway to launch it. I tried repairing it from Control Panel, but this doesn't help. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. In short, I'm stuck! Anybody have any ideas? View this thread

Hello there people of the forums. I work for a little IT firm which has been asked by one of our customers to install Office 2013 Home & Business on a number of computers for their company. The amount of installs is less than 15, so we've priced up and purchased a number of retail licences for each of the computers. In the past, when I have installed any Microsoft software in this way, I have simply had to insert the installation media (or download it) and activate each individual installation with the individual key. Not as fancy as volume licensing, but it did the job. Now when I've tried doing a similar thing with Office 2013, it requires an individual's login details to install office, and after that the installation is for ever listed on that user's microsoft account. That's fine if I'm installing Office for the Managing Director of the company (it's unlikely he's going to be leaving the business any time soon) but for the average computer user, I want to be able to install Office so it's not attached to any user's account. Have we bought the wrong licenses, and if that is the case, as a workaround can I set up all the licenses on one account and have them as a pool of licenses for the company? How would that affect online services like Skydrive etc.? On a side note, I have actually found that once I have activated one of these Home & Business keys, I'm then able to install it on any computer (and as many computers) as I like as long as I use the same key and log in. I keep reading that Office 2013 is for ever only able to be installed on one PC, but this doesn't seem to be the case. We've already bought 15 licenses, but it seems we could have gone down the (and obviously less honest) route of buying one license, activating against the boss, or against a generic business account, and using that to download office on to all of the business's computers. There are only 2 accounts within users, Me and Administrator, which require passwords to login during XP startup, I would like to know whether it is security enough for not allow anyone accessing my local HDDs? The Guest account has been disable, is there any other approach to access my HDD within XP? I am not concerning physical remove my HDD into other computer. I am only concerning security on my computer. Furthermore, how can I test whether the password for Administrator has been set or not? how can I login as administrator? I have purchased Windows 7 Professional last year in August, early January this year the subscription was cancelled by Microsoft and the reason was that the software was illegal. Contacted the above company and a new Product Key had been issued to me, it worked till yesterday with the same problem. It appears that this A-top Software site is now closed but they are still advertising via other Company umbrella.
