Within the past ten minutes, my computer began to make an odd squeak noise and random, lengthy intervals - like vinyl skipping. Within the last five minutes, it began emitting a horrific, high-pitched sound, half of the time when I try to play any kind of audio, and half the time when nothing (no video, audio, nothing) is playing on my computer. I can't mute it with the volume controls on the desktop, And the sound continues if I plug in headphones. I have been able to mute it using the headphone volume dial. I tried using device manager to update my sound drivers, but it said they were all up to date. I have an Alienware M17x (more specs can be provided if necessary), and the only thing I have downloaded/installed today is Dota 2. My only activity on the computer has been normal schoolwork and browsing YouTube. If need be, I can try a system restore from two days prior, but I am currently running a virus scan and would like to finish that first. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Original title: Digital Media Pro Software for Windows 7 & Mouse I recently upgraded to Windows 7, 64 bit. I had a Microsoft digital media pro keyboard and a Dell wired mouse. When I download the keyboard driver for 7, I can no longer configure my mouse. The system seems to think that I have a Microsoft mouse and sends me to the keyboard configuration page. Unfortunately, there are no mouse configuration options on that page, and I cannot switch the button functions. Since I use left-mouse, that's a pain. I had to uninstall the keyboard software. I can get online, but cannot operate system restore or download any fix-it because it says the disk is full, and it won't let me allow more disk space. I have at least 200g free on disk. Saw something else that this win32event.pyd is from Google Chrome, and I use Chrome all the time. Some advice required please. We're a small VAR and supply hardware and software to small businesses with no in house IT department. When customers have purchased Office Licences in the past, we've maintained a log of the number of licences held by a given customer, and a list of licences. This has worked well for Office 2007 and Office 2010. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I do not seem to be able to activate Office 2013 unless I associate it with a given email address, and I have issues with this approach.
